.......WACO GOT IT'S ASS KICKED BY STORM.......

Holy shit.Waco got hammered by the storm last night..down Franklin Street which is one of the main drags in Waco a bunch of telephone poles were snapped in half. The Coca-Cola plant had the entire back receiving door ripped off and back is pretty much destroyed..(Dr. Pepper plant to my knowledge is intact..)The Mayor of Waco was on news calling it a disaster and asking the government for help, so it must be bad..Usually they just ask God.I don't get the Waco paper and ususally don't watch anything but local weather, so don't have the entire news on the storm, but I know it is pretty damn bad..West didn't get hit like that ..we had wind,rain, thunder and lightning but the winds weren't that high and we got off with out any damage..I have some small branches in the yard, but grass is so high they could have been there for a month for all I know..I know the birds are scarce today..hung up a hummingbird feeder and hope that will bring in some hummingbirds..It might be because Rocky has decided to hang out on the front porch more...There must not be any females in heat as he has been home alot the last week or so...I did notice that he has been in another fight and don't think he fared to well...he has scratches and cuts all over his face..He's getting old and don't think he is as tough as he was..
No Dallas Paper today when I went out to get it..Went to town and bought 2 cream cheese kolaches and a paper. When I came home there was a paper but it was way down at the end of the house, almost in the yard next door...the paper guy called about an hour later and said he threw it right where he normally does, but there has been problmes with a dog who collects papers from all the yards and takes them to his house and won't let anyone have them..so he may have tried to drag mine off and cause it was a Sat. paper, too big for him..pretty funny...He is the brother of Maryruth's husband's exwife...(the paperguy..not the dog.)so they were all at the funeral..Damn, I should have gone, but I don't do funerals..
Think we are supposed to get more rain today and tomorrow..but right now it is a dark blue sky with nice breeze..everything has that just washed clean rain smell..Texas is in bloom...life is good...

OBSERVATION

IF I DRIVE AROUND THE PARK,
IM PRETTY SURE TO MAKE MY MARK.
IF I'M IN BED EACH NIGHT BY TEN,
I MAY GET BACK MY LOOKS AGAIN.
IF I ABSTAIN FROM FUN AND SUCH,
I'LL PROBABLY AMOUNT TO MUCH;
BUT I SHALL STAY THE WAY I AM.
BECAUSE I DO NOT GIVE A DAMN.

A Coca-cola plant, that's ok. Just please tell me it didn't hit any breweries! Texas brews some good beer, I'd hate to see any go to waste.

Poor Rocky. If he was fixed like me he would just sit in front of the computer and watch baseball games. :)

Asa said there were some rough storms down there last night. Lightning struck one of the trees at his place and messed up the phone lines. That can be some pretty scary stuff...

Glad you didn't get blown away! I know what you mean about the tall grass, mine is knee deep and it's almost dark when I get home. I should get a day off in a couple of weeks, but damn I hate to waste an off day working around the house.

I saw all that Waco damage on CNN and thought about you. Glad to hear you weren't as effected by it.
