Reminds me of a film I watched years ago, with Burt Lancaster I think, who tried to swim home across part of the US via outdoor swimming pools. We in the UK have got rid of most of our outdoor swimming amenities, just as well really because they would only become a target for vandalism and gangs of youths. Mind you if they kept such places open at least the kids would’ve had somewhere to go.
