WEST, TEXAS SWIMMING POOL

We have the second largest outdoor swimming pool in Texas..these are older pictures..since then they have built horse shoe rings, badminton, and thatched all of the outer edge by the little cafe...and game room.

That is amazing!
We got a bunch of wimpy, olympic-sized ones spread out all over town, but they largely go unused.
It don't look like you have that issue!

Hey, it looks like you could hold the summer Olympics there. Are you going for it?

this place is jam packed during the summer...they come from waco, hillsboro and all the smaller communities...cost too much but it's still the cheapest summer intertainment around..

I have never seen anything like it... do you go ?

How is Annie doing? and you??

It has been a really great day here.. sun and 70F .. The Book Thief is an amazing book, I recommend it..do you still go to the library a lot?

I can think of an activity you can do year round that's cheaper,or can be. You just have to find a willing partner.

kath:i went once last year..im trying to get some of the little old ladies to go as a group in the morning for swimming exercies and see if jimbo will give us a rate ..but all they do is whine...i can't swim, it's to hot, it's to cold, blah blah.fuck! my kids and grandkids have gone all the time..it's got crappy food, but there is nothing better than laying out on a raft watching the clouds float by.
i go to the library about 2 times a week if not more.
i'll have to check up on the book thief..someone else recommended it too.
it was in the 80's today or at least it felt like
it.
nitty:that willing partner is the part i have trouble with ..ahah

zen:it really is a great swimming pool...and there are almost NO cracks and it's over 50 years old...the guy that did it was a genius.

It's nice to see a public pool again. I can only think of a couple in my area and it's too big an area to not have more public pools. Of course nobody wants to swim in public pools anymore - they all put in their own pools. The public pools here are all in a sad state and by the end of summer full of who knows what because of neglect. Sad Sad deal as those were some of my favorite memories growing up - hanging out at the public pool, flirting, sunbathing. Good times.

I used to like going in swimming pools, but then when I read about how germy some can be, I've been hesitant. It's probably OK though as long as you change out of your swim suit and take a shower immediately afterward.

Nice! Our pool here is so little that you're not even allowed to use rafts and noodles, which are so fun for the kids....

WIth all the rain that has been in Texas the pool should be over flowing.

That pool looks so inviting under that brilliant blue Texas sky...

I got my swimsuit out.
