WEST, BY GODDESS, TEXAS NEWS

The guys on top are the winners of the Horseshoe Pitching tournament. The ones on the left Morris Russell and Brad Russell took second and as always  Jimmy and Dennis Dulock took first. I don't think they've ever lost..I maybe wrong but I can't remember them ever losing. The guy in the center is VFD member C. J. Gillasple. My oldest and youngest granddaughters Nicole and Haley are Dulock's on their mother's side. Think these are cousins to their mom.
Glen Jarrett of Tomball won the Grand Championship. He won first place in the bbq ribs and brisket categories. Also pictured is Gene Pruett of Granbury who was the Reserve Grand Champion at the cookoff.

Last Monday night we got 4.6 inches of rain..George Nors said as of 7 a.m. Tuesday morning we had 4.6 inches. I don't want to argue with George, as he's been doing this for years..But I swear we got more than 4.6 inches here at the apts. Waco got almost 8 inches..sooo, just saying.
So far this year West has received 14.27 inches according to Nors. This is a lot more than we got last year.. it was Oct. before we got 14inches for the year. Officially here in West, the drought is over. All the tanks, creeks, and rivers are full..hot dang.

The West Lady Trojans opened District 8-AAA softball with a 13-0 victory over the Hillsboro Lady Eagles.(Big Rivalry). They had a game Friday and tonight here in West. I remember that farm house well and the one sister and four brothers that lived there.
They were my ex's mother's siblings. Nicest people, unlike their sister the ex MIL from Hell.
Chats sitting around the pot bellied stove eating Aunt Lucy's hot fresh made bread or a walk into the barn to watch the uncles milk, etc.
It's sad to see another chapter end with the last brother passing.
;0( RIP

Now you m/f take a load of your feet and rest. A word of advice: The work never ends. ;0)

(((hugs)))Pat

Be nice if the rain would spread itself out a little bit. We got tons of rain last year - its not rained much in the past 3 months..
