The Lovely Lady Trojans....GO LADY TROJANS...
I don't know any of the girls really well, but I'm telling you ..no better representatives of West, sports and Texas could be found. I am so proud of these girls..and the boys too..They are all outstanding ladies and gentlemen of West.
I normally don't post wedding pictures, or engagement pictures for privacy reasons, but when I saw this in the paper I knew I had to post it..This is from the 50 years ago today section of the paper. Have you ever seen a more beautiful bride?...I was just stunned at her beauty ..I'm telling you ...Czech's have some great beauty genes.

Lots of news in West...WISD voters approved a $2 million dollar bond for construction on new track, ball fields. The construction could start this summer.
The 2012 committee is called the Field of Dreams 2012 committee. Isn't that cool?
The WISD superintendent thinks that all 3 should be ready for the Spring 2013 season. hot dang.

Saturday will be the last day for the showing of the Doll Show at the library. I took a gazillion pictures and will post some of them in a later post..the dolls are incredible, they had almost a  show 100 dolls and I even let them show my Topsy Turvy Doll(I call her Scarlet and Mammy) and there isn't another one like it in the show.
She's the one that has a white doll attached to a black doll. Depending on which way you turn her she's one or the other.
The Doll show will be ended with a Tale Tellers show called The Lonely Doll and will include snacks and crafts and is free for all children. This would be a great time for you moms in West to take the kids to the Library. Especially little girls.

Some of the best news is the West VFW is preparing for the Traveling Wall's visit to the city. The Wall Ceremony and banquet is set for May 24, with pancake breakfast set for Sunday.
The breakfast consists of pancakes, french toast, SOS, has browns scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon , juice and milk. The cost is $5 a person. The money will go to fund the showing of the Wall.
The West VFW will have the opening ceremony for the wall's coming to the city at 1 p.m. at the West Fair and Rodeo Grounds. The event is open to the public. Later on they will have a banquet celebration at 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The price of admission is $15 per person. The Wall and associated displays can be visited 24 hours a day from the opening on the 24 until 5 p.m. May 28. The displays are to be open free to the public. The tribute is to include an 80 percent replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. as well as historical and memorial displays of past and present conflicts. Guest speaker for the banquet is retired Marine Col. Gerry Berry, a CH-46 helicopter pilot during the U.S. withdrawal from Saigon.
I will go and take pictures for everyone.

I had a topsy turvy doll too. I loved it. I suppose it would somehow be too politically incorrect to make them today.
