Oh, so MANY good ones this morning, YDG! Like reasons to vote for the Tea Party, "support your president" bumper sticker, Colbert's rant on gay oreos, and reclaiming the word "feminism."

Have a wonderful 4th of July, you true patriot you!

That George Orwell poster?

The one with the cop kicking that handcuffed woman in the face?

If I had been there, I would have returned the favor and shot that son-of-a-bitch square in the face.

The witless liberals and Socialists have finally got their big government police state.(not that that's what they were expecting)

Enjoy.

Dear Granny,

Likewise I'm sure...

You believe I am a miserable soul? I am not. I am quite happy and productive in my retirement.

I disagree with some of the ideas you promote politically, but that certainly does not make me miserable or unhappy. I actually agree with you a lot about the Republicians. Here's why:

The Republicians and the Democrats are no different. They are the two stripes on the back of a skunk. One is on the left side, the other on the right, but they're still a part of the same skunk.

On my blog, I'm hammering away at the Democrats because they're in charge at present. Keep in mind that the Democrats in the Senate have been just as obstructionist and belligerent as the Republicians in the House. If the Republicians were in control of the White House with its almost unlimited executive powers, I'd be giving them the same treatment. More so, because they claim to be what they are not.

About the kicking of a knocked-down and handcuffed women in the face?

That's not Republician, or Democratic, or Liberal, or Conservative... that's just animal.

And a sobering indication of a rising police state.

It appears the woman was trying to exercise her rights of peaceful public assembly and protest, only to discover those rights do not exist anymore.

I hope that such a thing would never happen to either one of us, should we happen to go out and demonstrate for - or against - whatever we felt strongly about.

But I certainly won't bet the farm on it.

Everything here rings of the truth...well, except for Bob.

Only your truth, which is most likely just opinion founded on other opinion.

But hey, that's OK. Most people don't have a clue about what real truth is, so opinion is all they have to offer.

"My opinions are better than your opinions... nyah, nyah. nyah."

What a foolish way to stumble through life:

Convinced that ones own opinions are total truth, smugly satisfied that they are never wrong, believing that if the world would only see things exactly as they did, it would be paradise found.

Such fragile egos we humans have, that we cannot allow even one differing thought into our fortress mentalities that may question our mindset.

And we're supposed to be the top of the food chain? We've just been lucky so far.

you know Bob..maybe it's not so much what you say as how you say it. Like your so much smarter than we are and you you know every thing and we only think we do..I don't care if people disagree with me. But at 68 I find that life is to short to spend my time around and having conversations with people that end up in arguments..we dont' agree on much, so why should I spend my 'golden years' trying to make you think the way I think or arguing with you trying to make me think like you..I spent 8 years with Bush in the white house ruining my country and now after 31/2 years everyone wants to hang Obama out to dry cause he hasn't fixed it yet..please..I'd rather wear a pair of shoes that don't fit that to listen to that bullshit.

Bob said...

Granny,

I totally agree about Bush. He was a disaster on a scale we still haven't heard enough about. Too many secrets are still being hidden.

But Obama's not fixing anything. He's going down the same trail to insolvency that Bush was, with this idiot Congress gaily skipping along with him.(they gaily skipped along with Bush also)

I'm not concerned about Obamacare, or Romneycare, or whatever you want to call it. We'll all get healthcare one way or another, just like we all do now.

I'm worried about what will happen to us all if the dollar collapses.

Everything else pales by comparision.

Imagine what it would be like to suddenly realize that your entire months income won't even buy a loaf of bread.

That's what happens when a money system collapses, like when debt reaches a level so high it can never be paid off.

We are close to that point now, but the government wants to keep spending. To me, that's insane.

I'm not trying to start arguments, I'm just expressing my opinions here... as long as you allow it.

People on oppositie sides of a fence can still see a storm coming. The fun begins when they start discussing different things and methods on what to do about it.

ah, now this I can handle..conversations and expressing ourselves without making it sound like your preaching..this I can do.
