HEALING WALK...West, by Goddess,Texas

West had a healing walk Thursday evening..I had planned on going, then got beat up sleep wise by I-35 construction at 5 a.m. not counting the allergic reaction to (sesame seed oil) I think...Plus Abby has been sick and I held her for about 2hours and then sat in the floor with her to play for another 2+ hours. So I was whipped and then Anissa reminded me of it and I was going to wussy out and then I remembered they were going to put a white cross on her family home(which was directly across the road from the plant) and it was going to be very traumatic for her and she might need me there ...plus some of my facebook West friends were asking for me and telling her to tell me to come down there...I think they were hoping I'd bring cake balls..So I showed up..and glad I did..The crowd was very large and well represented out town..I was so moved by the entire event...everyone was looking for healing..they had holy water and little stakes with Love, or Faith, or some other word to help with the healing..I had one that said Love and they let me be the one to put it in the ground at West Rest Haven...I'm pretty sure that you all know I broke down and cried like a big ole baby...It was the first time I had been down Reagan street or any of the streets where we were hit the worse..seeing all those vacant lots where lovely brick 'homes' used to be was heart rending..seeing the place where the West Rest Haven used to be was horrible..the last thing to go down was the chapel and they did save the steeple..which is very important.I look forward to the day when they put it back on the new Chapel of West Rest Haven. The Healing Walk was supposed to be 3 miles, I was pretty sure I could pull off 3 miles but they kept doubling back and going different ways and I finally listened to Anissa and got on the flat bed that they had equipped with chairs ...she got on with me..and I'm glad..both her legs were all swollen..I did 99 percent of the walk and then at the end they gave everyone candles and we went back to the beginning at the High School..I was very moved  by the Healing Walk..when I got there I laughed and told them, you guys must really be hard up to want the only pagan in town to be here..No one cared..they are all strong in their faith of their God. They are good Christian people and I'm proud to know them, and be welcomed by them in such a important occasion..I think the healing took...I know Anissa feels much better..and they put crossed up at all the places where there was destruction.. I decided to make a cross for each resident that have passed away since the explosion..I'm thinking of doing it where the white cross is on Anissa's land, but I really think I want them at the West Rest Haven..Need to get a list from Kathy..I think counting the one this week..there have been 17 deaths of the oldies..breaks my heart...I made some videos but the are short and choppy, hard to work a camera phone in the rain, walking and crying..have a great weekend..love all of you...

Glad you made it, even though it sounds like it would have been easier to stay home.

*sending you a great BIG hug from the east coast*

I'm glad you went - and that you got a chance to see, and absorb, and hopefully heal... I hope someday the rest home is rebuilt and repopulated with people with characters like those that lost their only home.

The Healing Walk is a marvellous idea and I'm glad you and others did find it healing.

I still can't see your header. All that is there now is a box that says "Media is not available. To share your own images try Imageshack." Perhaps it's just me, because I'm on a Mac or in Canada. Sometimes that results in certain things being blocked.
