WEST NEWS

Every one in West is depressed. We lost 53-20 and it was a hard pill to swallow. I'm hoping that we will do better tomorrow at Glen Rose. If it wasn't so far( in Texas we convey how far a town is by how long it takes to get there. I don't know how far it is in miles but it'll take over an hour to get there, and my back won't hold up to the trip and then sitting on those hard no back benches at the game. So I will wait till the next home game. We are 4-1 and Glen Rose is 3-2. Nothing against Glen Rose, but after our last game I hope we kick their ass, which is exactly what I told them when the all came by and got high fives from the crowd. I told about every 3-4th kid to 'kick there ass next week.'...Devon has glad to see me there, but very very down about the loss.
Two of the local churches are celebrating anniversary's. Tokio Baptist is celebrating it's 100th anniversary, plus the old church was destroyed in 2001 by a tornado and the new one was rebuild 2 years later. The parish community of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope is celebrating it's Centennial this Sunday. Some times I wish I was 'churchy' as the community at these local churches is really strong and they are very dedicated to their church. It's the sermon's and the Bible that I have problems with. I figure if you really want to worship your deity you'd do it outside communicating with nature.

St. Mary's Homecoming Carnival is set for Sunday at the KC grounds in West. Hamburgers are to be served starting at 11 a.m. An auction starts at noon along with a children's area, bingo and a cake walk.(I love cake walks) The results of the auction will be announced also. St. Mary's Homecoming football game is scheduled for 6p.m. at Trojan Field.

I plan on going to the Gardening workshop this Saturday from 9-11 a.m. I also have to remember to plant my garlic, as it's that time of year again.
The Tale Tellers are seeking new youth recruits for the Library. Last Tuesday they got beautiful certificates made my Nancy the Liberian and I thought they needed something more, so I went to Sonic and asked the manager if they would consider a freebie for some good kids. So she gave me free coupons for ice cream. Better than a poke in the eye. Nancy was pissed cause I didn't get her one too.
These are the homecoming queens and their Dads and Grandpas.
Laura Denise Polasek is engaged to Alex Fiore Barretto and they will be married at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine. Laura Kolar and Kyle Wichman were married on September 12th at St. Mary's, officiated by Father Ed. They will honeymoon in the Bahamas and will reside in West. Keaton Pustejovsky had his sixth birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and his kindergarten class gave a cup cake party for him. Kylee Elizabeth Nors ws born on September 8th weighing in at 8 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 inches long. Abrianna Mae Dobecka was born on the 4th of September and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She is wearing the cutest little Czech knitted outfit you ever saw. Lane Jason Hejl was born on September 2nd and weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Emily Ann Jung was born this past July and weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.
Margaret Marie Haberl was 85 and passed away at Providence Health Center in Waco. Anessa's uncle Charles R. Maler passed away On Oct. 1st in Waco.
Jullian Mason places in Sunburst USA Pageant. She won first place and received a medal for the "Best Personality" optional event She was awarded a trophy for being second runner-up in the overall baby girls 0-12 months. She also won a $200 entry fee to the Texas State Finals, which will be in Houston next May.
The West Middle School seventh grade and eight grade teams won all three of their games last Thursday at Trojan Field. West was named "Army Strong' for victory over the Blackcats. Dave Campbell's Texas Football announced last week that the West High School Trojans football team was named the Army Strong Team of the Week for Division 3A following their September 25 win over Mexia. They were chosen for this honor because of their teamwork, dedication, discipline, personal courage and integrity, values shared by U.S. Army Soldiers.
"The Trojans opponent, Mexia was ranked number seven in the polls and has one of the top offenses in Division 3A football this season. However, the Trojans showed they can score with the best of them in a truly remarkable comeback victory," said Adam Hockfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
"The U.S. Army is recognizing the student-athletes at West High School for demonstrating qualities similar to those exhibited by its soldiers. Student-athletes and soldiers share similar values, but more importantly they must be mentally, emotionally and physically strong," said Captain Gary Ward.
Which makes it doubly sad that they lost 53-20 the following week. sigh*
Then to top it off the West Lady Trojans fell twice in 7-AAA games. The West junior varsity won both of their matches and the West freshmen suffered their first loss to Gatesville.
The Urban Family reunion will be on October 17 at Cottonwood Hall.
89 years ago the members of the Women's Missionary Society of the Methodist Church, led by their pastor Rev. W. H. Cole and some of them accompanied by their husbands went to the cotton field of Lee R. Williams for a day of cotton picking. Everyone carried their lunch and at noon spread their dinner picnic style. Mrs. Donald Ashley (kinfolk) and Miss Williams, daughter of the home each gave 50 pounds of their day's picking to the cause, while Miss Lake Allen, who was picking in another field, gave her entire days picking. The total amount picked by the Mission force was 1,340 pounds, and brought them $26.80. Pastor Cole outdistanced all others, his days work amounted to 204 pounds. He afterward admitted that it was one of the hardest days work he had ever done. I'm not sure, but I think the money went to the Mission.
West Food Mart has boneless fryer chicken breasts on sale for $1.99 per pound..I bought a package and made chicken for dinner ...nummmy
Community Grocery has Cornish Hens for $2.29 each and Blue Bell Ice Cream 2 for $8.00 so I broke down and bought a 1/2 gallon of Rocky Road. I have been watching my carbs sooo good that I can have a 1/2 cup of RR with a cone and my numbers are not over 135...hot dang.
I think Jenny and Jason are coming one day this weekend and I'm going to make home made pizza. Was going to take them to Pizza House and just buy one but I think I'd rather make several here. Plus Jessica O. wants Jenny to see her new baby Kenna..I think when I mentioned her baby I spelt her name wrong. It's Kenna Jo-Ann...and she is adorable. I went and saw her again and she's growing so much..She's such a good baby. Sara was there and got to see her too, and was so weird to see her with a little baby bump..sigh*..she's only 18..Baby's having baby's..
Ok...that's all the news..I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do some baking this weekend too. But heating the place up to make pizza's and then baking too?...nah...next weekend.
Feck!..I was going to take the sleeping pill earlier tonight in hope I'd go to sleep before 2a.m. and I forgot so it's 11 p.m. and I just took it...if it took an hour to work like they are supposed to I'd be ok.
Oh..did I mention that I'm going to go get a camera stuck up my ass the 26th of the month?..
and Dr. E gave me a script for sleeping pills which so far don't make me fall asleep with in an hour of taking them like they're supposed to ..I'm doing more posting on Facebook than I am on the blog as I get more comments and know that people are out there. I have 303 friends..still don't know who the fuck they are, but I'm having lots of fun over there.
Going to go take a hot bath, maybe that will help with the sleeping pill. I hope you have some good questions for the Goddess, she's in a snit for some reason. She thinks the wars should be over so she can concentrate more on love and not war. She's ready to do some match making instead of ferrying the dead in her chariot. She wants to use it for a 'lovemobile'...So make your questions good, she's hard enough to live with when she's in a good mood.

I'm not sure I would go to a church that was wiped out by a tornado. I keep thinking of people saying its Gods will. Seems more like some God getting sick of the opinions and attatude of the church itself.

Baby bumps at 18 are to early but the trend seems to be being a mom at 14 or 15.
What do you call a girl who follows the Vatagans rule that you use the rythem methode for birth controle? Mom.

I had a photo shoot down there in 1980 when the cameras were a lot bigger and they snipped off a couple of polips that werent hurting anyone. test came back Ok, but those little snips sure hurt.

I don't think I have ever been to your Fscebook place. I'm not even sure how to get there.

You better watch out for those sleeping pills.
When I was in the Hospital they gave me Zoloff and Prozac to relax me. It was just like they gave me one of those energy drinks. They couldn't figure out why I was only sleeping an hour or so every day. After being asleep for what I'm learning was more than two weeks instead of a few days.

I'm still here and reading blogs, but maybe I'm a ghost.

Forget the paint store woman, I want to have dinner and a movie with anyone of the lovelies from West Texas.

Hope you got some sleep - don't worry about that camera taking pitures up there... but do hope they don't forget the flash bulbs so they don't have to re-do 'em all.

And don't forget to plant the garlic.

Hmm, a Chuch leveled by a Tornado... I bet the Insurance Company tried to invoke the "Act of God" phrase to get out of paying the claim.

Maybe I ought to ask the Goddess how the hell, in this country, you can put "act of god" into a legal contract and get away with it??

If you can't even prove God exists, how do you prove it was his/her "act" that caused the damage in a court of law??!?

Push your cheek out with your tongue and tell the Doctor you think he's gone in far enough.

Say "I'm ready for my closeup Mr. Demille!" or say "Make sure you get my good side!"

Have you tried Melatonin for the sleeping? It's natural. Also, try doing some Meditation/Relaxation techniques. You can download some for free off the internet if you look hard enough. I have a great one that I got from iTunes for five bucks by Glenn Harrold.

Be patient with the pills. Avoid being on the computer or watching tv about 30 minutes before you take the pill. Being stimulated by the almighty screens makes it tough for your brain to slow down even with the pill in your system. Taking a hot shower or bath before bed is a GREAT idea - you up your body temp, and once your temp begins to drop, you naturally head toward sleep.

Stick with it, Jac! I know you'll get those circadium rhthyms back soon!
