  2. Hey Jackie Sue, here's another picture blog-

    http://www.myconfinedspace.com/

A lot of OMG! pics- over 1700 pages of them! It took me a week or so to go through them, but watch out for the 20 pages or so of Lindsey Lohan- we can do without those....

No like Pecan pie. When I was a little Nit we had at one hose a walnut tree and at another a pecan tree. Guess which two nuts I can't stand?
I'm sick too. I think I caught it surfing those medical sites.

  12. My favorite was the irony.

Is pecan pie even edible? Every time I've tried it, it's been so super sweet I couldn't manage more than the first bite.

  16. Tampax comic: hilarious!

Will love to try your Texas Pecan Pie. Have a try at our traditional meal finisher: Never can have a Thanksgiving without 3 or 4 of these pies around...

My Grandma Ingram's Blackbottom Pecan Pie:

    1 Piecrust of your choice

    Fudge Filling:
Combine 3 Tbsp butter, melted and 1/4 to 1/3 cup cocoa
Add: 2 unbeaten eggs, 3/4 c sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp salt, BLEND

Pour into pastry lined pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min. Then spoon pecan topping (below) lightly over pie. Bake 30 to 35 min. until crust is light golden brown. Serve in small pieces with whipped cream or ice cream.

    Pecan Topping:
Combine: 1/2 c light corn syrup, 1/4 c sugar, 1 Tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla and 2 unbeaten eggs; blend well. Add 2 c pecan halves.

  18. ps: you have your TREE up already!!! What the heck!? I'm lucky if I manage to get a tree and put it up by Dec 20... usually I'm torn between putting up a (gasp) cut tree or a live one... my large back yard is testiment to all the live trees I've fostered. You are one amazing broad :D

  19. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I hate to do this because I loathe hi-jacking threads, but there is a family in need and I'm hoping for suggestions on how to help them... I know you have a largely compassionate group of readers and so I hope you will not mind me doing this.

I'm not asking for a dime from anyone but some suggestions would be great if anyone has any. I have some ideas but am not able to do nearly enough.

If anyone is interested, the entry on my own blog is Hiatus Cut Short. There you will find their story.

Again, I'm really sorry to do this. But I will be grateful for anyone's constructive ideas.
