I complain that singers today just sound generic, like they were all cranked out from a clone farm someplace. No mistaking Janis' unique vocals! I enjoyed hearing the studio conversation as well :)
my daughter mojo sent it to me..she said it was janis's birthday and she went out between bouts of rain to the 'janis tree' and sang happy birthday to her. that's my girl.
Thanks for posting this link. I almost got thrown out of the house for bringing a Janis Joplin record home when I was in high school. My father didn’t want drug addict records in his house. Little did he know I was drinking, getting high and taking speed on a regular basis.
Janis Joplin died before I was old enough to listen to music (without the parental screening - who would have poo-poo'ed listening to her) so I've not heard much of her music.
thanks for stopping by and saying howdy...Goddess bless your little sweethearts. Please be kind to each other while commenting..don't make me find you like a heat seeking missile and bip you into a coma..if you would like to talk to yellowdog..send to yellowdoggranny@yahoo.com.....
Great to hear!

Of course she was great. She was a rock & roll singer. Not like most of the packaged people who stand there and play star now a days.
ReplyDeleteThat's the one song I might attempt to sing karaoke, but I never will since I couldn't do justice to it. She was awesome.
ReplyDeletethat is an awesome find. I loved it!
