I've been watching all the Olympic events and I get pretty choked up when "Oh Canada" plays.

We couldn't have better northern neighbors. I hitchhiked across Canada in the early seventies, and I fell in love with the people and their beautiful country.

I'm watching the Gold medal match in Curling right now, My Doctor said my heart would take the excitement, maybe.
I get to root for Canada without any guilt.
Yay, Kevin Martin! He's from Edmonton, you know (my city). The Norwegian skip said, "I didn't think we could lose with these pants!" They deserve a gold medal for having the nerve to wear those gawdawful pants in public!

ReplyDeleteI was actually SO relieved when the Canadians won hockey gold. I mean, come on, they live and breathe hockey up there. Half of our local team (Penguins) is from Canada. It just would have been wrong for them not to win it.

That fucking hockey game was a nailbiter! I about shit myself when they won! Mostly because I was curled up next to the husband and took a knee to the elbow...HA!
