Damn Granny I know the feeling. When I was young years dragged by; now I blink and another year is gone. To a ten year old one year is 1/10 of her existence - seems like a long time. To us it is 1/70... don't know if that what makes the time seem so significantly short.
I think the one of last persons I would listen to about Family Values, is Bill Clinton. And just to be neutral, I wouldn't listen to Sarah Palin either.
