When they tried to push their superstore in my town, they tried again and again. They took the town to court several times for discriminating against an out of state business even though there was already a smaller Walmart on the edge of town. They are persistent and they have the money to be persistent.
Once in awhile, towns win. A few years ago the Walmart wanted to build a new Super Center a mile or so up the road from their existing old small store. Local government stopped them cold; they could remodel and expand in their current location but there was no way they were going to be allowed to walk away from a site leaving a huge empty building behind.
we have one in bellmead which is 15 miles, we have another one in Hillsboro which is about 15 miles..so they wanted to get the prescriptions from all those residents in the new West Rest Haven..most of the residents take at the least 4 scripts..times that for 124 residents.adds up..
