Many of us had hope when Obama was elected - it seemed like the advent of a new era.
But America has too many racist, too many bigots, too many ignorant, too many religious fundamentalist, too many angry, too many self serving at the expense of others...
After more than seventy years I can see that technologies change, that rhetoric changes, that geo-politic changes that values change; but people never change.
We create our own problems and always will, because that is who the human race is.
It is not a pretty view of the future - but it is what it is.
Hopefully we can stumble along for another year without consequences.
