Eighteen years ago today I decided that I was going to quit drinking...so far ....so good...I figure if I haven't started drinking during the Bush Years, and the lousy Cowboy seasons, I am sober for good.
I haven't smoked in 36 years, haven't drank in 18 years, haven't had sex in 23 years..so like I always say:"If you see me with a cigarette in one hand, a beer in the other..........I just got laid."
I lol'd; well played. No cigarettes or sex for 18 years, no beer in 2 weeks. What does this make me?

Now you know why I don't visit West. I would be sure to corrupt you even though I quit smoking right after I had all my teeth pulled.

I should talk. I spent my time in bars since I was 14 but never got carded till I turned 21. Most people thought I was 30 as I had grey in my hair at 18.

ReplyDeleteI only "did the deed" once, the consequences were what led me to drink, which I still do...Recently, more than ever.
Could never finish a pack of cigarettes before they got stale.
Occasionally I'll bum one if I'm at a club, but that's not often.
Working on getting to the place where a case of beer will go stale before I finish it
Drinking stale beer is an interesting if gassy experience.

Give me COBOL or FORTRAN and Maybe even Basic and I can write the code but I have to hunt and test with XML.
Oh, by the way, you have been sober almost as long as Woozie has been alive. Now that puts in in a context I can understand.

rox:well, i didn't start out thinking "I'm never having sex again,"..it just sort of happened...I had a bad breakup with a guy who was a chippy bastid..and to be on the safe side I went and got an aids test..clean but I thought jeez, maybe we should be a little more careful who's dick you get interested in..then i had a hysterectomy and I sort of lost interest...then it was well, I haven't had sex in 1 year..you can't just go have sex with joe the plumber...has to be worth the 1 year wait..and the longer it went the better the guy had to be..now im a 65 year old chubby old lady and holding out for antonio banderas. i figure i can tell him im like a 1943 chevy with a new motor.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the grand achievement! I haven't smoked in about a year. Though it never was a huge demon in my case, it's good to be rid of. I can't drink, so I guess I can't quit drinking, and I haven't had sex in nine years. No damn reason to, and I surely see no damn reason to again.
