AND THE SKYS ARE CLOUDY ALL DAY.

if you start at the bottom of the cloud pictures you'll see how the clouds changed in 15 minutes. I forgot to pick my okra when they were 'ripe' so this is the size of them when I finally picked them. They could be used as daggers...There was no way you could eat these suckers...so I boiled them up then froze them so I could just use them for flavor when I make soups this winter..or not...Look at my clouds..ain't they grand?

  1. Chop up the okra in beer-batter and deep fry it in Canola oil (heart healthy, no trans-fat).
    Yum!
That cloud shit went on in Tucumcari all the time. You'd see a storm coming long before it got there - good thing, too!

  3. Those clouds look like one of those "Sound and Fury" storms that drop no rain.

They have an electrify excitement to them.

  4. I am always jealous of people who have gardens. I do not have a green thumb, so I shop the local farmers market.

  6. I love the clouds. Very nice. I have no idea what size okra looks like when picked at the right time..but you are very clever to use it as soup stock.

  11. Love me some cloud pictures. Any wetness fall out of them? I thought I say some rain clouds in west Texas (thx to Weather Channel widget)? I'm not sure how I would feel living in such a dry environment...but I guess you are used to that. :)

  12. Now you've got me wanting some hot pickled okra in a bad way. A really bad way. Like I might have to go to the store because that's where it lives.

  17. I've used okra that size in soup many times. In fact, most of the okra we Yankees get is that big. I guess they send us the stuff you guys won't buy.
