WEST, BY GODDESS, TEXAS NEWS

got the pictures from the paper for the West news post and finally got the pictures that Kathy and Jamie took at the TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME party. that will be in another post.
The Bullfest tickets are on sale and looks like it could be a good time for you rodeo types..Which I'm not...West KC is still having their fish fry every Friday. Don't know if they are just doing it for Lent or will be a every Friday thing. Library will be closed tomorrow for Easter. Miss Nancy got back from the Book Fair in Austin where she gave a speech about her work here and with the Tale Tellers. We're so proud of her. She has done such a remarkable job with the library and the books read have almost doubled since she took over. She's aces.
Main Street will have a street dance on April 29th..called Main Street Rocks and will be from 7 p.m. till 1 a.m. Mad Edison, Classie Ballou, Mac Abernathy Band and the Wayward Sons are all scheduled to preform. It's a kick off to the CBR (Championship Bull Riding) even the following day. The will have the area roped off . Will be on Main Street between Columbus and Oak Street. The price is $10 per person and no beverages will be allowed as you'll be able to buy stuff at the dance. Teh money will go to help in beautifying downtown, purchasing park benches and up grade electricity in the Main Street area of downtown. I joke about when you move to West to set your watch back 50 years, well, I'm not kidding. The electricity and phones were last revamped in the 50's and every time it rains the lights or phones or both go out. I'm not sure I want to pay $10 to go this..but I'll consider it..
There will be an Easter Egg hunt tomorrow given by the West Junior Catholic Daughters. Starts at 10am at the West Community Center(right down from me by the Library). The Easter Bunny will be available so kids can have their pictures taken with him. The proceeds will benefit the West Ministerial Alliance.
We elected out new Miss West..she's Katelynn Kaska and she's another beautiful Czech daughter of West. We have such beautiful kids..really.
We also got us a new athletic director/football coach/teacher etc. Sam Gilispie. He was one of the coaches for Forney High School when our teams met in the state semifinal game in 1999 and they lost to the Trojans. We'll probably mention that a lot..But not the part where his team went on to beat Liberty in the championship game to claim the state 3A title that year. Hope he can do as well for our football team. We're the best in baseball and softball, track, weights, tennis, etc. But pretty much suck at basketball and football. So we expect a lot from him.
West Middle School One Act Play cast will be performing their award winning production of the Wizard of Oz at 6:30 am. on Monday, May 2 in the West High School Auditorium. They performed the play in Glen Rose and received first place.
Czech American Restaurant was chosen the Chamber's Business of the year.
The annual Burnt Offerings Barbeque Cookoff and Lunch is scheduled for May 7 in the parking lot at the First Baptist Church in West. Barbeque brisket, chicken and ribs categories are to be judged. and No....I will not be judging.
The West KJZT will be making buchtas on May 6. If you have never had a buchta ..you don't know what your missing..Czechalicious.The money raised will got to help the KJZT Juniors to attend camp.
Molly Faith Lucas was born April 5 weighing in at 7 pounds and was 19 inches long. She's so pretty.hmm. I'm kin to the Lucas's ..wonder if I'm kin to them.????
Eddie Van turned 40, Lexi Maler turned 14. I know I'm kin to her. I'm kin to all the Malers, just ask Anissa.
Saturday at the West Station Marketplace starting at 10a.m. they're having a SUPER SPRING SIDEWALK SALE. Come on down..
James 'Slim' Hand will be playing at Out West Bar and Grill on April 28th from 8-10..I'll have to play some of his music for you again so you can hear how great he is.
Ross Country Store is having their 10th Annual Fish Tank Tournament and Biggest Bass Competition. cash prizes..
West Trojans and Lady Trojans are number 2 in the playoffs. The girls were number one but they got screwed out of their first place rating. Long story, but it's another story of them jerking the West Kids around. I hope the girls go all the way and win State this year. They had it last year, but they got it stole from them. Not sour grapes, I watched the game and it was a robbery..really.!!
Saint Mary's Church of the Assumption CCE students put on their annual Drive Through Stations of the Cross last Sunday. One of these day's I'm going to drive through, just to see it. Baseball season has started at West and we have a kabillion teams from t-ball to high school age teams..
We have some new listings on some nice houses..3 bd room, 2.5 bath brick home with 2,200sq. ft. on corner lot with pecan trees, garage and built in hutch. Builders home.$149,000.
Here's a great starter home or a great retire your ass to West, by Goddess, Texas home.
2bdroom with 1 bath with siding. Large rooms, very nice kitchen, central heat and air with large shaded lot. $74,900.
Well...I have to catch some rest..Babs and I went to Pizza House of West and had their new lunch special and had BA's Burger. The bread is home made at the bakery with 3 kinds of cheese and jalapenos. So fecking good. We had just sat down and Jamie and her boyfriend came in so we had lunch with them too. It was great..when we got our order, the waitress brought over 2 pink champagne scoop cakes on a stick. oh my Goddess...they were incredible..so moist and full of a cream filling. It's like the best pink ding dong you ever ate on steroids.. Jeanne the boss was in the kitchen cooking and saw me and Babs and had the cook go next door and bring us over 2 of them from Gerik's bakery, for our desserts..Man are we spoiled.Jamie's jealous..haha..All I know is...I feel sorry for all you folks that don't live here and get to partake in all the great foods West has to offer..nana nana boo boo stick your head in doo doo..we have the Pizza House and you don't.

WEST, TEXAS NEWS NOV.3, 2010.

Before I start handing out the local news of West, By Goddess, Texas I want to let you know that I won't be giving you my opinion on the elections. I have to calm down. I have to pick up the bits and pieces of my brain that are scattered all over my living room. Because my brain did explode when I woke up this morning and read what had happened while I slept. I watched reruns of Cheers rather than the election results for fear I'd either have a stroke or a complete meltdown. Sufficient to say I'm fucking livid. I don't know if I should spit or go blind. I'm so pissed I'm left handed. Enough to drive me to drink. Thank the Goddess I don't drink any more, because I'd still be drunk and probably be seeking the assistance of a bail bondsman. Fuck me I'll never smile again. Ok..to the West News. sigh*
The above picture is for you dirty ole men who enjoy looking at the beautiful girls in West. The won their games and are heading into the play offs. The Lady Trojans qualify for regionasl in the Cross Country Teams. They won the District 8-AAA Championship last week and will compete in the Region I Meet this Saturday in Lubbock. (pronounced Lubb ock.....not as some think, Lu bbock..)The Lady Trojan Volleyball team advance to the area playoff around this Friday as they take on the third ranked 3A team in the state, Abilene Wylie, in Stephenville, Texas.
The West Trojans lost to state-ranked Alvarado 28-26. Crap!. The loss moves the Trojans' season record to 5-4 and District 8-AAA mark to 2-2. They play their final game tomorrow In Kennedale. Hope they win.
We had a great Halloween turn out down town for the kids. The city had set up a receiving line for the kids in front of the City Hall, Fire Dept and Police Department. I had planned on going down and take pictures but I stayed home to watch the Rangers lose to the Giants in the World Series. The Cowboys lost again and the Houston Texans lost on Monday night football. But just to prove that the Goddess hasn't completely abandoned me...The Baylor Bears beat the Texas Longhorns at Austin for the first time in like...100 years..really. It was just beautiful.
This is the first year I didn't decorate, or make stuff for trick or treaters..I have boxes everywhere, most of my baking stuff is already packed and my decorations are packed too. sigh*
I did haul my butt out to Strickly to be one of the judges in the Chili Cook-off. Judas priest..didn't I say last year I'd never do that again?...I'm such a schmuck..Mike A was there(Marissa's Daddy and Inky's big brother) and one of my best friends and we talked each other into judging. It was Goddess awful. There were 5 judges and Mike and I were the only ones that had ever judged before and I knew we were screwed when they started talking about how they made their chili. Sweet Goddess they used bell peppers...Mike and I were giving 4's and 3's and maybe an occasional 7...these 2 women were giving 10's for chili that looked like tomato soup with hamburger in it. One was brown color...no red at all. So we both said next year? We'll enter our own chili. fuck em..
I am moving out of the apt. the 10th of Nov. (hopefully) and be there till the 17th. So I'll be spending my 67th birthday in a Motel 6...Now that I think about it I think I spent my 35th, 43rd and 46th birthday in a Motel 6.. But that's another story for another post..snort*
Westfest membership meeting is the evening of the 10th. I had wanted to go so I could stir up some shit. But after making sure the movers don't break all of my crap, ferry 2 psycho cats and the stuff I'll need to survive for a week to the Motel 6 in Hillsboro I may not be up to coming back to West and tackling the Westfest board. I'll have to see.
Both the KJZT and JCDA are having bake sales. Kolaches and Buchtas. Which are sort of like a strudel and are so good.
Alzheimer's support group to meet at 10:30 a.m. on Nov 9th. I thought about going but I keep forgetting.
Our annual food drive is starting and will go through the 19th. We always collect a huge amount of food. Need to go through my cabinet and give some canned veggies.
West Community Center will have their annual Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 25th and I'll volunteer for that again. I really enjoyed it last year and was so proud of our town for the amount of food that we gave out. I may make a couple of extra pies for them. I'm already in for 8 pies and 2 cakes for the bake sale for the West Haven, so what's 2-3 more.
Louis Eugen Bajer came into the world weighing 7 pounds and was 19.5 inches long. Celebrating his 92nd birthday is Ben Knapek. We lost 2 old timers too, George C. Kubacak and Travis T. McMorrough. Both in their 80's so they had a pretty long life.
Robert and Marty Kreid are celebrating their 30th Anniversary.
50 years ago a 3 room house with bath and hot water at 505 W. Walnut was renting for $15 a month.
Derek Hutyra was named to the TSTC Honor Roll. Derek is a student in aviation maintenance.
The West Kiwanis Club is hosting a community blood drive to benefit Carter Blood-Care from 2-7 on Nov. 11 at the Community Center. Anyone like to drive down and donate some blood?
The West FFA is selling fruit and meat for their annual fundraiser. I bought some fruit from them a couple of time and while pricey the fruit was always really good.
I'm not buying a bunch of stuff for groceries as I'll be in the motel, so got some cans of tuna fish, a 3 pound box of bbq Sausage links for $5.99. They are Slovacek's and they rock. Plus Wrights bacon was on sale and got a pound of it..think I'll fry it up and then can reheat it in the microwave at the motel. Also taking my oatmeal and crunchy peanut butter and blueberry sugar free jelly. Some bread and maybe some lunch meats and cheese..For 6 days I can make it on sandwiches and salads. I'll have a refrigerator and microwave and they serve continental breakfasts. The thought of being in that room with those 2 fucking cats is enough to make me rethink sobriety. Nitty Fucking Flowers is a kitten and they are insane until they are about a year old. Dexter was going to kill him at first but now they actually play together and sleep together at the foot of the bed. But Nitty gets pissed because I let Dexter out to go visit the neighbors and he has to stay in. He makes sure I suffer for it.
West Food Mart has vienna sausage 3 /$1..might pick some up for snacks. I already bought some single pop corn and cans of nuts. I went to Dr E. and he upped my glyberide and now my blood sugar is nearly perfect..I still forget to eat on occasion and it gets pretty low, but only once did it get realllllly low. But after I get back moved into the new apt. I'm making apts for a full check up, a mammogram and the camera up the ass thing. Also need a good foot doctor as I am losing more and more feeling in my feet, especially the right one..The middle toe is black which sort of freaked me out..but then remember I banged into one of the boxes in the hall way on my hourly trip to the bathroom and bent it about 3 different ways.
Saw Patsy Patsy Patsy at Community Grocery, she asked me how I was and said gooder than dirt.
Here's a great little starter up home for you..1915 built home, wonderful woodwork, hardwoods, butler pantry, needs updating and remodeling. Priced to sell at $34,900. On Marable street which has a nice blend of old remodeled homes and new ones.
Well I'm going to go get my hair cut tomorrow, put on makeup and go get my drivers license renewed..The one I have has old address on it and picture is 8 years old and was sick with the flu and looked older then than I do now. If my license is going to last for 8 years I want it to look better than the last one. Which when people would see it would say "what the hell happened to you here?"...
I'm hoping that the week of my birthday my friends will take me out to dinner at Pizza House. Sarah and Marissa are supposed to take me out and Babs is going to take me out. I'm dropping hints every where. Don't need anything ..just buy me a skunk egg. Ha.
Went to the used shit store here 'cause they had a 1/2 price sale. I got a tea kettle that looks like a cow for $4 and 3 books..(yeah yeah, I know I just gave away 4 boxes of books, but I'm telling you it's a sickness)..Also picked up one at the library for .50. Called Weird Texas. Your travel guide to Texas's local legends and best kept secrets. Like the beer can house, a house shaped and made like a kettle and one that looks like a steel pig, a identical copy of the Munster's House and
a Museum to Hoss(Dan Blocker.) really cool book.
But my best buy for $1.50 is my t-shirt that is a Monty Python shirt and it says " I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION."... That's better than my Dick U. T-shirt. I can't wait to wear it and will have Babs take a picture of me in it for your enjoyment pleasure.
Ok..gotta run..have to empty boxes calling my name.
Oh...another neighbor has found me. I guess she lives next door to the lady that found me and she told her about my blog. She said they both read it now. She is also one of Dexter's fans. He goes down to visit with her and her grand-kids were there over the weekend and they love him. Of course..he loves being petted and they like to pet him. No wonder he never wants to come home. My cat is cheating on me.

WEST, TEXAS NEWS

before the West News I have to show you Shady Lane's African drums..Besides the African Drum dance classes she takes she is now learning to play the African drums..she rocks.

The West teams place at District 7-AAA meet. Both the West Varsity boys and girls placed fifth.

The West Trojans boys and girls won their district..in 7-AAA. The JV softball team Lady Trojans also are district champs. They were6-0-1. The boys and girls were both 8-0. The girls are scheduled to play some warm up games as they wait for their Area Playoff games in May. The Trojan guys have a 23-5 season record.
They have a bye the first game for Bi-District and will start playing May 13-15. I hope they go all the way. Baseball is king in West, and we have a World Series player Scott Posednec to prove it.

The best news of all is about the Tale Tellers of The West Public Library. You ready for this? They won state-wide recognition when they were honored as the Wayne Williams Library Project of the Year Award, which was presented to them at the Texas Library Association's 97th Annual Conference on April 15 in San Antonio. (Nancy had told me before the girls new and it took every thing I had to keep it to myself)Besides a plaque, the Library was presented $500 to continue the project. See, they had a grant to get it started and run it for a year. Well, when the year was up, the girls went to Nancy and said it was too important and they didn't want to quit ..money or no money. So they did it all on their own, having cake sales, sold confetti eggs at Westfest and did absolutely every thing on their own. The city of West gives them a little but not near enough to cover the cost of the costumes, props, snacks for the kids, etc. This past Saturday someone donated a bunch of huge pots and the girls helped kids plant roses and bushes in the pots and served them cotton candy. I was going to do the cotton candy, but one of the Tale Tellers wanted to and it's their gig, so I let her do it..I think I was back-up if no one knew how to do it. That was for Earth Day. They do something almost every Saturday. I am going to see if I can do the cookies/cupcakes etc. for the snacks when they have it. It can be costly, but hell I bake for everyone any how. But if anyone would like to donate to the Tale Tellers fund of West, By Goddess, Texas..put it in the Annie's donation pay pal and I'll give it to Nancy. When they won the State award, you have to know that they were up against cities like Dallas, Austin, Houston, etc. Many many libraries...and we beat them all. It's really a big deal and I'm so happy and proud of them and grateful for Nancy who got the ball started. The $500 they won didn't go far as Nancy drove them down from West to San Antonio and back plus paid for the 2 rooms. So most of the $500 went for travel expenses. Nancy is a retired school teacher and her wages from Library isn't that much and she can't be expected to foot the bill. The library doesn't have enough money to pay for stuff like that. Our money goes for books, supplies, and Nancy's money. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
West also got a new fire truck for the West volunteers. Estimated cost is $70,000 and will be used mainly to fight grass fires. The city paid for it with money accumulated from fund raisers and donations with the cook off being one of the major fundraisers. I want you to know..for a town this size, we have the best volunteer fire station and fire trucks around..
More good news..Merle took off yesterday to go to Florida to visit his sister. Think it will be good for him, to get away from the house for awhile..Merle loves to travel and T.J. had been sick for a long time and wasn't able to travel, so this is great for Merle. They had a fish fry last Saturday, but I'd had all the fun I could handle for a while.
We had a kick ass storm and at the end of my unit wind broke a huge tree off and fell against the end of apartment. Plus the shingles and wood frame under the roof was ripped up from the wind. Winds were up to 60 miles an hour. Ripped up signs, trees, roofs, etc. Plus beat the crap out of our blue bonnets...but they bounced right back.
I think I have my camera ready to take pictures..still haven't figured out the video camera. But before I do anything..I'm reading the destruction's.
I made home made pizzas tonight..one for me with fresh mushrooms, onions, black olives pepperoni and a ton of cheese. Babs just had cheese and pepperoni..We both agreed..they rocked. Have to go get all the stuf ready for the cooking class tomorrow...Making home made granola and serve it with vanilla non-fat yougurt..I'll let you know how it goes.

WEST, TEXAS NEWS 3/31/10

All sorts of stuff going on here in West, By Goddess, Texas. First of all..the most important news..Bold Springs Baptist Church is making hamburgers starting at 11 a.m. on April 5. I have putt my self on a strict diet so I'm not sure I will allow myself to go and get me one. But then Goddess knows I'm weak and it's just a fucking hamburger..sigh*

JCDA Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday at the Community Center. The Easter Bunny will be there so the kids can have their picture taken. I wonder if the Bunny will get pissed off if I hop aboard?

Hippity hoppity happy Easter Day.

The City is asking for survey information so we can apply for a Texas Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Recreational Grant. I'm for sure getting in on this. The survey will be for:

Baseball/Softball complex with picnic pavilions and playgrounds.

Walking/jogging bike trails

Tennis courts

Track Field

other...

We already have an excellent baseball complex with 3 fields. I think they could just add on the picnic pavilions and play grounds to the side of it which is just a big ole field.

I like the idea of the walking/jogging and bike trails.

We're still having the Mayfest on 21-22. Along with a Cowboy Bean Cooking competition and we're also going to have a Farmers Market. Which I hope is better than it was last year. Maybe I'll have better luck with my little garden and can sell or swap my veggies..Yeah, right.

We have some engagements. Savannah Mae Kutscherousky is engaged to Aaron Blake Fullerton and will be married at St. Mary's on April 24. Laci Rae Lynn Horton is engaged to Joshua David Jirasek and will be married May 8 at the First Baptist Church.

Kelciey Leighanne Anderson was married to Brian Joseph Petter at St. Mary's and they really make a great looking couple.

Tokio Store is having a music-packed Saturday as they present "Bowleg Billy" followed by "Jeremy Lynn Woodall."...hot dang.. No cover for Bowleg but $5 for Jeremy. Nors Sausage and Burger House is having an all you can eat catfish this Friday and Saturday is rib-eye night.

St. Mary's had the Drive Through Stations of the Cross. I have pictures this time..(taken by Larry Knapek)

We had 5 deaths and since most were old farts that had lived a good life it's not so sad. But we had a 28 year old that was hit by a car and killed. Especially sad as he served 6 years in the military and was in Iraq from 2002-2005..

The Slovak Realty squad placed second in the T-Ball division this past weekend. The Young Guns won the championship in the age 12 and under minor baseball tourney. While the Cernosek Insurance team placed second in the Girls T-Ball Division.

Trojans open 7-AAA serious with 2 wins. 22-4 over Hillsboro and 9-3 over China Springs. The Lady Trojans beat China Springs 5-4 and Hillsboro in a 5 inning game on the 10-run mercy rule with a 9-1 win.

West Food Mart has shank ham on sale for $1.39 a pound so I bought one. Going to put hot dry rub on it and make spicy pulled pork..I also got 2 cutlets and will make chicken friend steak for Babs and I...I love chicken fried steak..Blue Bell 2 for $8...sigh*... Community Grocery has New York Strip Steaks for $3.99 a pound..hmmm..

Brick house for sale on Harrison Street..which is a stretch of nothing but new brick homes. 3/2.5/2 with 2,868 sq. feet. Large master with private fireplace and central vacuum system for $259,900. Anyone a RN or LVN/RN? We have openings here and at Hillsboro which is 15 miles away. They have openings for Core Measure Data Abstractor, Intection Control Practitioner and weekend supervisor for 8 hour shifts. Plus Czech Stop is always hiring.

Other news has been fun...or not depending..Anessa called. Her middle kid was in a fist fight and was getting the better of the fight and the other kid pulled a knife and stabbed him. Not good. He's still in the hospital but he's going to be ok. The apartments have been selling for months now..everyone knows about it..Will probably go through about mid summer. So Tony (lives over by Babs) is 173 years old and the biggest gossip in the apartments and he goes to Babs and says the apartments are sold and Charlotte is fired. Hmm...So I call Charlotte on a pretext of where you been haven't seen you are you sick?..She's fine..lost her wallet had to go around getting her new drivers license, SS card, etc. So I sezs to Babs..nah...she's still with us. So today (Babs and I are so evil) we're coming back from getting West News and some groceries and we see Charlotte at the apartments by Babs (actually she was yelling at me to slow down..speed limit is 15 and I usually go about 30) so I sezs to Babs..wonder if Charlotte has heard the gossip?...So we go tell her..and Tony just happens to be outside clucking with one of the neighbors..I sezs..'there he is..you should go find out where he's getting his information.' Then we go unload the truck of Babs diet Cherry Dr Pepper and watch Charlotte ream Tony's ass. We were laughing so hard we could hardly walk. Tony is now pissed at us because we ratted him out. We laughed and told him that's what he gets for telling tales. 3 hours later and Babs and I are still giggling about it. Life is good...

WEST NEWS

Every one in West is depressed. We lost 53-20 and it was a hard pill to swallow. I'm hoping that we will do better tomorrow at Glen Rose. If it wasn't so far( in Texas we convey how far a town is by how long it takes to get there. I don't know how far it is in miles but it'll take over an hour to get there, and my back won't hold up to the trip and then sitting on those hard no back benches at the game. So I will wait till the next home game. We are 4-1 and Glen Rose is 3-2. Nothing against Glen Rose, but after our last game I hope we kick their ass, which is exactly what I told them when the all came by and got high fives from the crowd. I told about every 3-4th kid to 'kick there ass next week.'...Devon has glad to see me there, but very very down about the loss.
Two of the local churches are celebrating anniversary's. Tokio Baptist is celebrating it's 100th anniversary, plus the old church was destroyed in 2001 by a tornado and the new one was rebuild 2 years later. The parish community of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope is celebrating it's Centennial this Sunday. Some times I wish I was 'churchy' as the community at these local churches is really strong and they are very dedicated to their church. It's the sermon's and the Bible that I have problems with. I figure if you really want to worship your deity you'd do it outside communicating with nature.

St. Mary's Homecoming Carnival is set for Sunday at the KC grounds in West. Hamburgers are to be served starting at 11 a.m. An auction starts at noon along with a children's area, bingo and a cake walk.(I love cake walks) The results of the auction will be announced also. St. Mary's Homecoming football game is scheduled for 6p.m. at Trojan Field.

I plan on going to the Gardening workshop this Saturday from 9-11 a.m. I also have to remember to plant my garlic, as it's that time of year again.
The Tale Tellers are seeking new youth recruits for the Library. Last Tuesday they got beautiful certificates made my Nancy the Liberian and I thought they needed something more, so I went to Sonic and asked the manager if they would consider a freebie for some good kids. So she gave me free coupons for ice cream. Better than a poke in the eye. Nancy was pissed cause I didn't get her one too.
These are the homecoming queens and their Dads and Grandpas.
Laura Denise Polasek is engaged to Alex Fiore Barretto and they will be married at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine. Laura Kolar and Kyle Wichman were married on September 12th at St. Mary's, officiated by Father Ed. They will honeymoon in the Bahamas and will reside in West. Keaton Pustejovsky had his sixth birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and his kindergarten class gave a cup cake party for him. Kylee Elizabeth Nors ws born on September 8th weighing in at 8 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 inches long. Abrianna Mae Dobecka was born on the 4th of September and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She is wearing the cutest little Czech knitted outfit you ever saw. Lane Jason Hejl was born on September 2nd and weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Emily Ann Jung was born this past July and weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.
Margaret Marie Haberl was 85 and passed away at Providence Health Center in Waco. Anessa's uncle Charles R. Maler passed away On Oct. 1st in Waco.
Jullian Mason places in Sunburst USA Pageant. She won first place and received a medal for the "Best Personality" optional event She was awarded a trophy for being second runner-up in the overall baby girls 0-12 months. She also won a $200 entry fee to the Texas State Finals, which will be in Houston next May.
The West Middle School seventh grade and eight grade teams won all three of their games last Thursday at Trojan Field. West was named "Army Strong' for victory over the Blackcats. Dave Campbell's Texas Football announced last week that the West High School Trojans football team was named the Army Strong Team of the Week for Division 3A following their September 25 win over Mexia. They were chosen for this honor because of their teamwork, dedication, discipline, personal courage and integrity, values shared by U.S. Army Soldiers.
"The Trojans opponent, Mexia was ranked number seven in the polls and has one of the top offenses in Division 3A football this season. However, the Trojans showed they can score with the best of them in a truly remarkable comeback victory," said Adam Hockfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
"The U.S. Army is recognizing the student-athletes at West High School for demonstrating qualities similar to those exhibited by its soldiers. Student-athletes and soldiers share similar values, but more importantly they must be mentally, emotionally and physically strong," said Captain Gary Ward.
Which makes it doubly sad that they lost 53-20 the following week. sigh*
Then to top it off the West Lady Trojans fell twice in 7-AAA games. The West junior varsity won both of their matches and the West freshmen suffered their first loss to Gatesville.
The Urban Family reunion will be on October 17 at Cottonwood Hall.
89 years ago the members of the Women's Missionary Society of the Methodist Church, led by their pastor Rev. W. H. Cole and some of them accompanied by their husbands went to the cotton field of Lee R. Williams for a day of cotton picking. Everyone carried their lunch and at noon spread their dinner picnic style. Mrs. Donald Ashley (kinfolk) and Miss Williams, daughter of the home each gave 50 pounds of their day's picking to the cause, while Miss Lake Allen, who was picking in another field, gave her entire days picking. The total amount picked by the Mission force was 1,340 pounds, and brought them $26.80. Pastor Cole outdistanced all others, his days work amounted to 204 pounds. He afterward admitted that it was one of the hardest days work he had ever done. I'm not sure, but I think the money went to the Mission.
West Food Mart has boneless fryer chicken breasts on sale for $1.99 per pound..I bought a package and made chicken for dinner ...nummmy
Community Grocery has Cornish Hens for $2.29 each and Blue Bell Ice Cream 2 for $8.00 so I broke down and bought a 1/2 gallon of Rocky Road. I have been watching my carbs sooo good that I can have a 1/2 cup of RR with a cone and my numbers are not over 135...hot dang.
I think Jenny and Jason are coming one day this weekend and I'm going to make home made pizza. Was going to take them to Pizza House and just buy one but I think I'd rather make several here. Plus Jessica O. wants Jenny to see her new baby Kenna..I think when I mentioned her baby I spelt her name wrong. It's Kenna Jo-Ann...and she is adorable. I went and saw her again and she's growing so much..She's such a good baby. Sara was there and got to see her too, and was so weird to see her with a little baby bump..sigh*..she's only 18..Baby's having baby's..
Ok...that's all the news..I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do some baking this weekend too. But heating the place up to make pizza's and then baking too?...nah...next weekend.
Feck!..I was going to take the sleeping pill earlier tonight in hope I'd go to sleep before 2a.m. and I forgot so it's 11 p.m. and I just took it...if it took an hour to work like they are supposed to I'd be ok.
Oh..did I mention that I'm going to go get a camera stuck up my ass the 26th of the month?..
and Dr. E gave me a script for sleeping pills which so far don't make me fall asleep with in an hour of taking them like they're supposed to ..I'm doing more posting on Facebook than I am on the blog as I get more comments and know that people are out there. I have 303 friends..still don't know who the fuck they are, but I'm having lots of fun over there.
Going to go take a hot bath, maybe that will help with the sleeping pill. I hope you have some good questions for the Goddess, she's in a snit for some reason. She thinks the wars should be over so she can concentrate more on love and not war. She's ready to do some match making instead of ferrying the dead in her chariot. She wants to use it for a 'lovemobile'...So make your questions good, she's hard enough to live with when she's in a good mood.

WEST, TEXAS NEWS

West High School is 4-0. The won the game last week against unbeaten Maxia in the last seconds of the game by
28-27. This Friday is their home coming game and will be playing against another unbeaten team with a 4-0 record, Godley. Yes we have a Godley, Texas..ain't it grand?..These are our very beautiful Queens, Kings, Princess, and Dutches. We had the Homecoming Bonfire last night. I was going to go see it but I forget every year. I think the Machac boy is a cousin of Jennifer's fiance, Jason. Seven different classes are having their high school reunion..From 50 year reunions to 7 years. They are having a Weststock Reunion for the class of 1969 with a Woodstock theme. That should be fun to see. The West Trojan Homecoming Tailgate Party is planned for Friday, from 4- P.M. in the West ISD Administration parking lot as the Catholic Brothers and Sisters United (CBSU) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) join forces to rally the Trojans to victory. I know I should go and wish now I had gone last Friday, but I'm still not up for happy yet. But then if I did go and they lost Anessa will never let me go to another game as I'd be considered bad luck.
St. Mary's is having a Homecoming Carnival on October 11 at the KC grounds in West. Hamburgers are to be served starting at 11 a.m. An auction starts at noon along with a children's area, bingo and a cake walk. There will also be a raffle drawing after the auction.
West Main Street will be hosting 3 organic gardening workshops during the month of October. They will be centered around 'keyhole gardening' techniques. The first workshop will involve the actual material structure of a 'Keyhole Garden'. The second and third workshops will include the compost and other materials used in the garden along with the various plantings in the garden. I think I will try to attend them. Sounds interesting and could learn something.
The Tokio Baptist Church is going to be celebrating their 100th Anniversary on Oct. 11 at the church in Tokio. There will be Gospel music throughout the day along with a barbecue dinner with all the trimmings for $8 and also a action is planned at 1 p.m.
Gina Greener and Haze Roberts were married on September 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, officiated by Father Ed Karasek.
Elnora Uptmore celebrated her 88th birthday in Cottonwood. Helping her celebrate were 2 of her sisters, her 6 kids, 16 grand kids, 30 great-grand kids, and 2 great-great grand kids.
Holden Sinkule celebrated his 3rd birthday by going to his first Ranger Baseball game. There is a great picture of him in a Rangers cap, t-shirt and holding a glove.
Ross Volunteer Fire Dept. is having their 24th Annual Benefit at the Willis Country Store, Downtown Ross. Plate dinners, bbq sandwiches, brisket and sausage along with an open horseshoe tournament and auction.
Some of the highlights from the West/Mexia game was the fact that West recovered two onside kicks. Plus the fact that Mexia Blackcats won their other 3 games by such a large margin the Mexia defense had never had to really play a full game and because we kept it so close they had to play more and they were exhausted. West had 185 yards rushing and 140 yards passing.
West Lady Trojans opened District 7-AAA volleyball with a road victory over the Whitney Lady Wildcats last Friday. They beat them 3 games straight. 25-22, 25-18, and 25-21. West Middle School football team won 2 out of 3 games last Thursday. The West Trojan Red freshmen squad defeated Mexia 15-14 last Thursday. The West Middle School eight grade Lady Trojans volleyball took first place in the Lorena Tournament on September 19.
80 years ago : G.W. Oliver and wife are now comfortably domicled in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Lusby, where they have an apartments. Mr. Oliver is now the new prescription clerk in the Old Corner Drug Store. He and his estimable wife are gladly welcomed into our midst.(word for word from the paper...) cracked me up...
Kayla Urbanovsky is the Senior Class President.
West Food Mart has top sirloin steak on sale for $2.99 per pound. And thank you Goddess, Community Grocery Store has Wright's bulk bacon on sale for $2.79 per pound..I'm telling you folks, this is some gooooooood bacon, and when it goes on sale I get at least 2 lbs. Good stuff Maynard. Tomatoes are on sale too for .79 cents per pound..make me up some blt's..
All the news from the West News ....My news: I made 3 chicken pot pies. One for me, one for Babs and one for Tony our resident Englishman who lives across from Babs. He told me that he had trouble sleeping lately but after eating my chicken pot pie he went to bed and slept for 8 hours.. They both said the pot pies were good. But it was the first one of the season and it was a little soupy to me. Good, but soupy. I don't know if I had mentioned the fact that I always carry dog treats in my truck for any dogs I meet along my travels. When I go to Babs the lady that lives in the front has a little poodle doggie named BoBo..and when he sees me he goes nuts barking, jumping up in the air, running in circles cause he knows I have treats for him. I had ran out and didn't think I could handle going into the pet section of Family Dollar so I haven't had any the past 4-5 times I have been by Babs and to say the least..BoBo's been pissed...I finally went and got some treats from F.D. yesterday, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. Especially since Margaret and one of the other lady's ambushed me yesterday about Annie. Sigh*.....Margaret didn't say anything but she hugged me..which is all it took..started crying and then the other lady hugged me and jeez..I was a mess. I'm ok as long as no one mentions her, or touches me ...hugging me makes me a sobbing mass of tears. I know in time I'll be ok..but right now..? not so much.
I have little okra penis's all over the place. All this rain (it rained today for a little and supposed to get more the rest of the week and into next week too) has really made my okra thrive.
I don't know if you know that Babs and I make fun of the snuggles that are advertised on TV all the time. Or as Saturday Night Live calls them Slankets...We just rip them up...we hate them..I'm sure they are great..(not) and some of you out there have them and enjoy them (saps) but not for me...not for ole Babs...So (you can see where this is going can't you) I get a phone call yesterday from my friend Sarah A.(Inky's sister in law) and she and her daughter Marissa were right out side the apartment and had a gift for me. So they come in and Sarah says, "Mike(her husband...Inky's brother) bought one of these for me and Marissa and as soon as we saw it we knew that we had to get you one too." and whipped out a box with a zebra pattern snuggle ..I had to bite the inside of my mouth to keep from bursting out laughing..(I should be nominated for a Oscar..for best performance in the leading Actress division)...I oohed and ahhed and hugged and thanked them so much. Couldn't wait for it to get cold so I could snuggle up on the couch and read my books in my snuggie...holy shit!...Do you know how big them fuckers are?...It would fit me and the 2 of them. The sleeves are 6 inches too long, the bottom is 2 feet longer than your body..I know they are made big like a blanket but Judas priest..it also comes with one of those clip on lights to read books with. It doesn't work for shit, but it's cool when you press the little button on the side it snaps up and whips out and stands up and tada there is light. I clipped it on my book and it was on my forehead, my shoulder, and every where put the pages..and when it did it was at the bottom of the page or the far left or right instead of in the middle so you can actually read..maybe I'm doing it wrong, but it doesn't work.
I'm going to go to Jenny and Jason's this Saturday, to see their new house all decorated with their new furniture. I'm bringing Pizza House pizza and mozzarella cheese sticks. Plus I have a bunch of books for her new book cases and other stuff I have for their new place. I am starting to get the Halloween decorations out for the apartment and what I don't need or want will give to Jenny. I'll take some pictures when I'm there and of the decorations.
Guess that's all the news from my neck of the woods. I haven't been doing much ...sort of hiding out..Babs called yesterday and said I sounded sad so took me to Pizza House and we had bacon cheeseburgers and french fries..she had them and I stole some. It's hard to be sad while eating a PH bacon cheeseburger..Them suckers are big, fat and juicy and have just the right amount of bacon and a bacon cheese burger is $4.25...so take that Burger King.I'll have a Cowboy recap and Monday Stumbles and then probably a post about the visit to Jenny's...til then...ya'll have a good day, ya'hea?

WEST NEWS

Sigh.....I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do this post without throwing myself on my keyboard and sobbing my heart out..but then again, maybe not. I am still an open wound and miss my little friend so much, but I'm trying to be a big girl and not make a complete fool of myself over this.
So...West, Texas...holy shit!...we have had so much weird shit going on I don't know where to start..First of all we had a kidnapping.. some woman who was the friend of the lady that had the 1 week old baby came over and said she would watch the baby for her at the house so the mama could take a nap. When she woke up the 'friend' and the baby were gone. So she called around and nothing..she called the police and then the girl shows back up with no baby and tells the police she tossed the baby in a dumpster..which is what she had done. The baby was in the dumpster for about 2 hours face down with old insulation tossed on top of him. The West Police were really on top of things and found the baby right away and he was in the hospital and doing fine..Tough little critter. the girl is 25 and had been telling everyone that she was pregnant and due any day. They think she had planned on taking the baby and passing it off as her own..In a town the size of West, I'm not sure how she planned on getting away with that..which is why she probably ditched the baby..she's in jail charged with aggravated kidnapping and injury to a child with bond set at $500,000.
So we not only are getting over the shock of that, when one of the tenants back by Babs said that the maintenance guy showed her his penis. She is mentally challenged and has a tendency to 'stretch the truth' and so far the police are not taking her seriously. The guy in question is someone I don't think is capable of doing what she said. He's a weird duck and wears those nylon shorts that are almost like underwear and I think he bent over to fix her water heater and she caught a glimpse of his penis and freaked.. I told Babs, hell, if he's going to go wagging his weenie around, send him over to my place.
Then today we had 'apartment inspection' as the apartments are being sold and they are checking on the shape, etc. She asked me if I had any complaints and I said 'funny that you should ask'..and told her I was pissed and thought it was a violation of my civil rights as to not being able to have a choice in my TV reception..That the idea of these apartments was to give affordable housing to old farts living on fixed incomes and yet we were forced to pay for a cable service that was crappy and was way to expensive. That I wanted to get a satellite dish and wasn't allowed to by the apartment rules. She said she would mention it. Then Babs told them that the outside lights would burn out and they did not replace them in a timely fashion(and let me tell you...it's really dark back there at her end of the apartments) and that they didn't keep the grounds up and to avoid extra work like mowing, they used weed killer to kill the grass. So we're thinking some shit is going to hit the fan..and of course, old Tony told them about the supposedly weenie wagging maintenance man.
Hmm, what else..oh yeah..it's been raining off and on for days and we've gotten lots of it. I refer to them as gully washers...and my okra is loving it..I have little okra penis's popping up all over the place. I think I may have to retire my nekkid rain dancing ass as we have our quota now thanks..
The Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo starts October 9-17 and five West High School students have been selected as 2009 Heart O' Texas Sweethearts and will be participating in the upcoming fair.

I'm telling you..we have some very very pretty girls in West.

We have over $3 million dollars for road work on FM 1858 which is Tokio Road..but it's on the other end so it won't be affecting us...good, don't need any more traffic foul ups over construction.
What else is going on?...Amanda Rejcek married Zebulun Peery on June 27, 2009..Jessica Rose Nors is engaged to Mark Anthony Clifton and will be married October 24th at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Ava Catherine Dornak was born on August 31, weighing in at 6 pounds and 6 ounce and was 18.5 inches long.. Logann Carreon turned 3, Christy Jones will be 18 on September 25, Frank Macicek will be 95 on September 29 and Edward Snider was 90 on September 12.
West Trojans will host state-ranked Mexia this coming Friday. I hope to go, but with me you never can tell. Both teams are unbeaten and it really should be a good game. West Food Mart has pork butt roasts on sale for .99cents a pound.Community Grocery has top sirloin steaks for $3.29 a pound. There is a new listing for a country brick home on 14 acres, 3 bed, 2 bath, very large country kitchen, garden room, enclosed porch, stock tank, carport, separate shop building for $269,000. If your interested in a business ..Ray's Electric and Plumbing plus 2 leased retail store fronts has dropped down from $125,000 to $115,000. Wild West Steakhouse( 2 story building) with fully equipped kitchen and bar, furniture, and fixtures for $259,000. Now there is a place I'd like to buy..change the name to Jackiesue's and fix nothing but home cooking my style. Sigh*.....West Feeds is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary with refreshments and can register for door prizes.
We have really had some cool and wet weather..normal for this time of year is about 88(and it's always about 90) and it was 67 today...Down to the high 50's at night..it's wonderful. But think by this weekend it will be back to the 90's...So far we've received over 8 inches...of rain.

I on the other hand...oh never mind.
Ok..that's all the news from West. Hopefully I'll perk up and be back to my natural asshole self..but right now?...just don't have it in me.

WEST NEWS AND WEST RODEO

Last weekend was the biggest rodeo we've had in 10-15 years. It was a record number at the gate and all the vendors did well. The rodeo parade last Friday was also one of the biggest ones we've had in recent years. ( I had to miss it because of Drs. appointment). A total of 378 contestants participated in the two-night even as $22,842.29 was given to the winning contestants.
I'm posting pictures from the West News and they were all taken by Larry Knapek who does all the photos for the paper and does an excellent job.
School starts August 24. but the St. Mary's School kids are already in classrooms. Good news Devin (Inky's kid) is going to be on varsity football team. So my Friday's will now be spent in the stands of the West High School Trojans rooting for the kid. He has grown so much. When I first met him he was a little fat kid...just the cutest thing you ever saw..Then he started growing. He's now 6' tall and weighs 180. I'll get some pictures for sure of the games. I expect Anessa and I to be permanently banned from all games by the third game of the season. You should have heard us when he played baseball...Holy Shit!...We were rowdy. to say the least. Inky just sat there shaking his head.
The West Lady Trojans opened the 2009 season with a win against Abbott Lady Panthers. We always have a great girls volleyball and basketball team, plus our softball teams kick ass.
Westfest is just over two weeks away and they are still running around trying to get it all organized. It will be from Sept. 4 through 6. It all kicks off on Sept. 4th with the Miss Westfest Pageant at 7 p.m. Country music artists Bart Crow and Johnny Cooper will be the entertainment. Every year they get people more obscure than the year before. If they don't get rid of all the old farts on the committee and get some young blood on there so they can start catering to a younger crowd, no one is going to be showing up at all. When they started this over 30+ years ago they had some decent musicians from Asleep at the Wheel to several big name country stars..Now? Not so much. Every year the prices go up and the entertainment gets worse. Fuck!. Adult admission for Friday night's preview party is $12, children 12 and under with adults are free. Saturday and Sunday admission is $8 for adults, and $4 for senior citizens(hot damn for being an old fart..of course in West a senior citizen is 80), military with ID and children 6-12. Parking is available on the grounds at $3 per vehicle or $2 in an area adjacent to the festival. (I can walk from the apartments..now 20+ years ago I couldn't walk it as I was usually drunk before during and after the Friday kick off at the street dance.)
Festival activities include cultural dancers and performers from across Texas and a variety of Czech Polka bands. There is also a 5K Fun Run, Kolache baking contest, a Czech Taroky tournament and and antique tractor pull and a variety of arts and crafts.
The expanded carnival, which was introduced at the fest last year will be returning and there is also an crap load of Czech food an pivo.
There is a traditional Polka Mass set for 10:15 a.m. Sunday in the Westfest cultural Amphitheater. Father Ed, pastor of St. Mary's will celebrate the Mass.
If you want more information about the fest you can go on line at http://www.westfest.com/.
I think I have even badgered Babs enough that she promises to go at least one night. If I have to drag her ass she's going. We'll also do the parade this year too. There won't be a Grassroots Democrat float this year (I don't think) so will just watch the parade. Although maybe I can convince Family Dollar to pay to decorate the white truck for Family dollar and spring for candy money and I can drive the truck and Babs can toss candy to the kids. Hmm, this could be very entertaining...at least for me and Babs.
Mr. and Mrs Harley Smith celebrated their 40th anniversary. Delciey Leighanne Anderson is going to marry Brian Joseph Petter at St. Mary's on December 12, 2009. Agnes Lamere just turned 50 and I'm sure she kicked it up on her birthday.
Wendy Kubla and Craig Sustala were married on July 25th at St. Mary's.
We lost Lawrence Raymond Ondrej 78 ,on August 15th. 84 year old Marie Lydia (Urbanovsky) Matula passed away in Hillsbororo on the 15th also. Robert Cannon, Sr. passes away August 17th at his residence.
Girl Scout Troop 7076 from West visited Austin and learned about caverns and bats. In case you don't know, in Austin every evening when the sunsets the bats come out in the thousands from under the Commerce bridge..It is awesome. First time I saw it the kids and I freaked out. The boys and I had just read Salem's Lot and the sight of all those bats sent us back to the car and we rolled the windows up and hauled ass out of there.
Both grocery stores have Dr Pepper on sale, 3 -12 packs for $11.
There is a new listing for 6.7 acres of tall trees creating a wall of privacy for a 3-bedroom, 2 bath brick house. Formal dining room/living room, family room with FP, stock ponds, covered patio, and 2-car garage. It's on Tokio Road which is my road, but it's way out in the country. It's going for $199,000. Not bad for all that land and ponds.
Well, this will probably be the last West post until Westfest. Which for the first time in a long time, I'm actually excited about. I had a ball last year because Vicki(Junebugg) came down and so did Gaddy from North Texas. So far no one's coming down. Couple of my cousins from Houston are mulling it over. Whee...But it's ok, they're pagan tolerant. ha
y'all come back and see me'ya'hea?

.......WEST NEWS.......

Have to start right off with the great news that the Bold Springs Baptist Church is having 2 meals during this coming week. Yesterday that had baked chicken and dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, dessert and tea. July 20th will have hamburgers with all the trimmings..I see they have the right phone number this week. Last Monday it was wrong and instead of being able to call and order it and pick it up, people just swamped the place and those poor ladies were about to jump ship. First they ran out of lettuce, then they ran out of buns(just as I got there to order our burgers) so I had a long wait and used the time to take some pictures and chat with Vivian who takes the orders. She was about to run screaming out the door. I got to say howdy to Miss Pauline who's mother is the one the Mary E. Howard Multi-Purpose Center is named after. You might remember me talking about Miss Pauline before. She's the one that I help with rides for her groceries. I pick them up and take them home and she rides her 'scooter' down the street. I left before her once and she damn near beat me home. They don't come any sweeter than her.
I am going to do a post on just the ladies of Bold Springs hamburgers and the history of the church and the center. It's very interesting and they are pretty amazing.

West Library thanks to Nancy H. the librarian and her initiative in getting the grant money started the Tale Tellers for the Library. It is such a success that the program got state recognition. The Central Texas Library systems July newsletter features the West Public Library's Tale Tellers in an article that describes what they do and the times they do it. The newsletter was mailed to over 300 state library websites statewide. Nancy has done such a great job since she took over after Miss Henrietta passed away. She still talks like she's going to quit next week, and makes jokes about how she doesn't like kids and can't understand why they all want to join up and do all this stuff with her. I smell bullshit..ha..and tell her so. She loves those kids and loves seeing their potential. She was a high school teacher for many years..Wish I had a teacher like her. She truly cares.
Cottonwood has a picnic planned for Sunday. The SPJST LODGE6 is having their 112th Cottonwood Picnic with a friend chicken and sausage meal with all the trimmings. Take out orders and large plates are priced at $7 each and small plates $5. The West over 40 Dance group is having a dance tonight at West Fraternal Auditorium. Admission is $6 per person and the music will be provided by Texas Heartbeat....I just noticed something...it says for further information, call Jacque Beavers....I swear....that's not me..and I am sitting her biting my tongue to keep from making a smart ass remark about her name ...but I won't.
Main Street program is having a photo contest for teens and adults. The categories are:pets, landscapes, people, floral, sports and others. Prices are to be provided by Padgitts in Waco and Arlington Camera in Arlington. It cost $5 for each entry. I'm thinking about entering. Have to decide what I want to take a picture of...I'm thinking people. Might go up to the Retirement Center and take some snaps of the old folks hands. All I have to use is Babs digital, but if I do good, maybe I could win a camera. Tada!..yeah, right. ha

The West Shilling Pipe and Steel Junior Girls Softball team has scheduled a fundraiser tomorrow at the Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.They are selling BBQ sandwiches with chips for $5. The proceeds will go to aid the girls in their trip to the state playoffs in Early, Texas. Oh yeah, they won...that's so cool. Hmmm, BBQ sandwich to help out the girls Saturday or Monday at Bold Springs for hamburger. decisions ...decisions..

There is a great article in the West News about 3 generations of Valedictorians..The grandma was Valedictorian at Lott High Schook in 1961, her daughter at West in 1987 and her granddaughter at Robinson High School in 2009. That's great.
Christina Nix married Kody Kolar were married April 3rd. Pamela Malar is engaged to Tracer hand and will marry this July 25th. Tracer is the son of James Hand, you know.old boyfriend, great singer..Check him out on his website. If you like Hank Williams, Sr. you will love James Hand. He's on my blog roll.
Tatum Kendall Kasberg was born on May 11, and weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and 20.5 inches long. He has a born to be an Aggie cap on..So cute.
Seven people passed away. Some familiar faces in the crowd. Some were younger than me..that always makes me twitchy...
Filly's N Phish Restaurant and Bar has 1/2 price daily specials Monday thru Wednesday and a daily senior discount...Longnecks for $1...I think I'll pass on the longnecks but this coming Wednesday I'll treat Babs for lunch and see if I'm considered 'senior enough' for them..haha.
I'm posting all the pictures of the softball winners teams. They just look so cute and wholesome.

West has a new Auto Supply ...they have freon on sale..need to get some for the white charger. But my heart belongs to Ace Auto. First of all the owner drives a tanish gray Studebaker, forget what year...and I fucking love that truck. Plus the guy is damn near the best looking guy in West. He's too young for me and think he's married..but damn...he's fine.

Kade Rogers went fishing with his grandpa Christ Rogers and friend Andy Curry(son of a bitch, I just noticed that's Patsy Patsy Patsy's Andy...and he promised me fish the next time he went..busted Andy...now I not only know you went..you and everyone caught 9 damn fish weighing up to 10 pounds..I'm calling his ass the minute I finish this post. Buttroy. I want my stripper...
West Food Mart has peaches on sale for .69 a pound..I bought some yesterday and they were really good..Not the big fat ones like we usually have but after the drought, guess we'll have to take what we can get. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhman...Bing cherries are $1.99 a pound and I found out that they are one of the fruits with the highest amount of carbs..sigh*.fuck.
Sonic is accepting applications, which means they will be opening soon. Every time I drive by I want to holler out the window at them..'hurry the fuck up'...torn between doing that and getting out and hugging the building.
Great business opportunity for some one..Pizza business in the Czech Republic. They have 3 successful pizza restaurants for sale in Brno, Prague and Velky Tynec..Plus the Village Bakery is still for sale. All offers accepted. Community Grocery has leg quarters on sale for .69 cents a pound. and limes 10 for $1...I'll go get some of those..I like them in my tea and my Family Dollar fruity water that I'm so fond of.
They had a party last Sunday for Father Ed celebrating his 20th year as the parish priest for West. They had it at the KC Hall and Jeanette K. in her little news column said he danced every dance and had requested his two favorite bands to play, the Red Ravens and the Jujka Brothers. This is Father Ed on the right with the new Father Will..Father Ed looks like he might have had a pevo or two.

Well, that's all the news worth printing..come on down and visit with us..ya'hea?
