Could you just put your links on the desktop, perhaps? If not, there's always a way to find them in your browser. Not, I know, an ideal solution, but it will work.

Removing a hard drive and putting it in a new case is slippery; if you haven't done it before, I don't recommend trying it by yourself. Once done, it appears you can plug that drive into your new computer and copy your files. that PCmover Express (currently available for $15 from their site) can transfer your files.

I wish I were within easy reach - I pull laptops apart with frustrating regularity, and I could get the drive out no-problem.

...Windows X, however, is a different story. I tried using it when they were basically giving it away, and it pissed me off so thoroughly that I wiped the drive it was on and reinstalled Win7 from scratch. There is software that supposedly returns the "look-and-feel" of Win7 desktop to a WinX machine, but I've never had occasion to look in detail or try any of it.

Windows 10 works just fine. When Microsoft upgraded from XP to W7 everybody complained but got used to it. Now going from W7 to W10 the complaints are the same. It takes a little time to get used to W10. Have patience. Jackie, please see my FB replies regarding the way to take the hard drive out of your old machine. I posted photos to show how easy it is.

Windows 10 takes everything you know about tablets and PCs and makes it far worse.

You might have your photos on Google Drive from the old computer. Worth a try.

In win10, start button, scroll down to the program you want, right click, there are three options, put on desktop, put on start menu, and delete. ( desktop, main screen, start is those boxes on the side of the screen) those two are the simplest. To get to ribbon bar, I have to go to properties, and, that means the program is running in limited memory, delays start-up time. 8 and8.1 were simpler.

I love windows 10 - I think you will when you get use to it. Why would you install an old hard drive in a new computer??? Check out web sights on YouTube for directions on using windows 10
