Yes, sad news indeed. I was a HUGE Gordon Lightfoot fan when I was young and had most of his records. I saw him perform live in concert in Winnipeg in the 80s. Certainly one of the best singer-songwriters Canada has ever produced.
I remember the very first time I ever heard him singing on the radio. I was maybe 9 or 10 and the song was "Bitter Green." His beautiful rich voice and vibrato made me an immediate fan.

I saw Lightfoot in Nashville in the early 80s, with Kenny Rankin opening the show for him. Such a distinctive voice, and a great songwriter.
A voice that still takes me to a good place. Such a talented man. Glad he shared this time and space with us.
Thanks for posting, pal. 😪

I loved his music..watched a documentary on him a couple of years back...very interesting..he'll be gone but his music lives on.
Grew up with his music. A great loss.
