Many years ago in another life, I worked in a blood bank doing type and cross matches so people could get transfusions. While the 'who can get and give to whom' chart is technically correct, when you transfuse blood, you NEVER give anything but the same type blood to a person. A+ gets A+, O gets O, end of conversation. There is just too much risk that 'bad things will happen' if you try tranfuse a different type of blood.
