These are the rolls. They are humungus...Chocolate chip rolls, carrot cake, lemon, pecan caramel, every kind you can think of ...The girl working there was afraid you wouldn't be able to see them in the case so she brought out a tray for me to take a better picture..making sure she was kept out as she said her hair was a mess..It wasn't...I'll talk them into posing next time.

One of these will make my blood sugar go up to 298...I know because I ate one to find out.

this is one of 2 liquor stores in West. The other is fancy smancy brick and glass..This place is ran by David Pareya..the Judge..I shit you not. I like him...he's a good guy..When I drank I used to keep help send his wife to Vegas 3 times a year.

This is one of the older buildings in town. It's empty now but it used to be the 'black bar'...Way back when I used to drink I had more than a few beers in there..why? The beer was the coldest beer in town..and I used to go in there to see Risky..His wife Mary used to read my cards and wouldn't take money for the readings but would take Big Reds..So I would always take her a bunch of Big Reds and she also made me promise not to tell the 'other white ladies' as she didn't want them coming to her house...I named a black cat after Risky and he loved telling every one there were 2 black cats in town called Risky..

This is the old movie theater that is going to be remodeled into a theater..I'm hoping they will make a dinner theater out of it.

Flowers and Things shop is one of 2 flower shops in West. Used to be Bush's Grocery Store and had old wooden floors that squeaked when you walked on them..plus you could get cold Dublin Dr Pepper out of the old soda machines that had the glass top and you put in the money and then slid the bottle out of a slot..I miss that.

Sulak's Restaurant next to the other drug store West Drug. I have been in West Drug 2 times ..Both to pick up scrips for someone else. I heart's my Old Corner Drug Store and my main man...Kirk.

I HEART MY SECRET ADMIRER

Well, she's not secret to me..but she doesn't want me to tell anyone who did this...but as of the 9th of this month I will have a paid subscription for the DAM News for 6 months..This friend who is now in the will along with all of you for the help with Annie, wants to remain anonymous..She won't even give me her address so I can send her a card. I wish she would so I could send her a book just for her..I had a ton, it would be no big deal but would make me feel better about the wonderful gift..How did I get so fecking lucky to have such wonderful friends..I feel like Sally Fields..." you like me...you really like me."...Plus I've been bummed out because Mothers Day is coming and it's a time of the year where I feel like a piece of shit, because I might hear from Mojo if she's not having some crisis. But nothing from the others. Plus the granddaughters remember they're mother but don't think about Grandma on mothers day...so it's a day I dread...really fucking dread..But then I get this fantastic gift from a person who only knows me from what I put out here every day ...All of you that contributed to the Annie fund and gave from your heart make me feel tons better.. Lots of people have parents who drink or who work and aren't around. some don't have problems, some do and some blame their parents. Once again, it's not your fault. Considering your background who do you have to blame? Mine? if I went to school as black and blue from my mother beating me up today they would have put me in foster care. So? I have anger issues but it didn't ruin me or you. Stop punishing yourself over your adult children's behavior problems which are theirs not yours. unfortunately it effects you but it's not your fault. You were and are a good mother. it's wrapped in a clear plastic cover..Its in perfect condition..the pages are a little yellowed...but...it's all in french.none of the pages are the same size...there are the most terrific sketches inside...gorillas chasing naked women.pirates on a ship with a naked woman blowing a horn It's fantastic..I love it..don't have a clue what it says, but maybe I have a copy of Candide in English..hmmm, I think I do..will have to find it.

But the sketches are worth the $2 if nothing else..Dang..I did good..

Dear Dallas Morning News,
Or as I call you on my blog when I write about something I have read there...DAM News. I am a subscriber from West, Texas. When I got my bill for this month and saw the $42 due I thought, oh they have made a mistake..I only pay one month at a time..If never occurred to me it was a rate increase, because I never received notification about an increase...TILL I GOT THE FECKING BILL. Excuse my caps and the fecking..But I'm ...well, I'm torn between feeling hurt, angry and betrayed...I haven't felt like this since my last boyfriend dumped me for a braces wearing 19 year old. (me being 45 at the time, I sorta took it personal)..which is how I'm taking this...personal..I have read the DAM News since 1976..Would have read it sooner, but I didn't live in Texas.
I've had home delivery since 1993 and for a short time couldn't afford the delivery but bought it as often as I could every day..What really pisses me off(please excuse the language but at 65 I have little need to impress anyone)
is not more than a month or so ago I had read in 'my DAM News' that another paper had gone under..I freaked.."Oh my, how terrible." I thought..."What if that happened to MY DAM News? That would be awful, I love my paper sooo much and just can't imagine life without getting up every morning and finding my DAM News on my porch. What would I do with out my DAM News".....gee...there I was worrying about losing the paper because they might go tits up...what I should have been worrying about is if my DAM News was thinking about me...Because once I started talking to 'DAM News folks' on the phone I began to see the ugly truth...You don't give a rats red 'butt' if I continue as a paying customer. I was told in a very polite and asskissing way...'.tough shit'...I was told I could get a discount but had to pay for the paper 3 months at a time..I'm a widow on social security $706 is what I get a month..I'm hard pressed to come up with the $20 every month as it is..but I do it...why?...I love my fecking DAM News. I quote the DAM News, I blog about it...my posts are DAM NEWS POST...Everyone knows what that means..the Dallas Morning (AM as in morning)Newspaper report aka yellowdoggranny style..Then they told me ..
'well..you can get just the weekend paper'.....Excuse the feck out of me???????????? what ...? Nothing happens m-f? What about during Football Season? the Friday spread, the Tuesday recap of the Monday game...????
I match wits with the sports casters every season against the spread..I have kicked their asses for the past 5 years them no picking buttorys....there goes a ritual of 15 years down the tubes..What about the crossword puzzles? I do 3 of them a day...I tried doing it on line..it sucks, it bites and it blows...Granted I can read the comics on line..but let me tell you ...that's not the same either..and did you even read your own comics?..did you read non sequitur today?...jeez, you guys are a piece of work..So after all this time...the one thing I look forward to each day(besides waking up) is gone..history..and not because I did anything wrong...I haven't been a bad ole board(well, I have but has NOTHING to do with me getting the paper.)

LAST DAM NEWS

fuckity fuck fuck fuck!...Buttroys!

Sigh* I'm not sure if it is Monday that is the last day of my DAM News or Tuesday. But this will be the last DAM News post...

I was sitting in my almost brand new $25 recliner(I have to tilt it up and kick start it to get the recliner part to swing out as the handle is broke...I like the idea of kick starting my chair every day.Wish there was someone to kick start my ass every morning.)

So I'm sitting in my chair....and I'm remembering back when I read in my DAM News about other papers that were going bankrupt and thinking "Oh, my Goddess!..I sure hope my most beloved DAM News doesn't go bankrupt, that would just be awful and what would we do, alas alack?"....(we because even though it's my paper and I will miss it, I think most of you kinda enjoyed my posts on the DAM News..)There I am worrying about them...and so like I said..I'm sitting in my chair thinking..."Hey wait a fucking NY City second....a month ago I was worrying about them...then out of the blue they jack up my rates($22)(after raising the price of the paper when you buy from the machine or from a store) and they not only didn't tell me...they fucking didn't care enough about me as a customer(been reading the DAM News since 1976) to work with me to keep me as a customer.. Oh they said they would make a reduction if I paid for 3 months at a time...yeah, on $706 a month, that's not going to happen. They said well, just take it on the week-end...excuse the fuck out of me...life only happens on the week-end?...What about during football season when they do the Cowboys fucking recap and the recap of all the other teams..How am I going to see what the point spread is on the games that comes out on Friday. Plus Tuesday is the day I get the final recap of the weeks games counting Monday night football and see how bad I out picked the expert sports writers(who I have out picked for the past 4-5 years...them no picking Buttroys)...But do they care....?

fuckno.....They were all very polite and all sounded veddy veddy caring..but the bottom line is..they didn't give a fuck. They didn't care that I've been reading the fucking paper for 33 fucking years...Subscribing since 1993...I told them I was a widow( I love using the widows card, and if they don't know that I'm a self-made widder lady, that's not my problem.) living on a fixed income.. even when I went 2 years without a income...I found some way to scrape up .50 fucking cents for my DAM News and $1.00 for Sunday..Really...I can't even begin to tell you what I gave up so I could have my DAM news.

I'd tell you, but I'm too embarrassed to mention it..It makes my kids look bad..One of the things I gave up?...I didn't have water for 6 months...My neighbor let me use their shower and got water from their house...6 fucking months..But I had my DAM News ....fuck!...Do they care?...fuckno...This is the really sad part...I cried...I fucking wept trying to explain how much the DAM News meant to me and how much I wanted to be able to keep reading it. They did what no one has ever been able to do..They broke my heart....

So...................on to the last DAM News...just for spite? I'm not giving the fucking reporters any written credit ...So there!

Even if they told me I could get the swine flu from eating pig...??? I'd have to take my chances...I'd risk death for baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacon!..

I'm sure by now you all have heard about the collapsing of the Dallas Cowboys facility camp structure. That was pretty scary. 12 were hospitalized and one assistant coach is paralyzed from waist down. I saw a picture of the rain right above the facility and it was freaky..it looked like a tornado but upside down. The winds were 6-70 miles an hour...I'm posting some pictures but if you go to the Dallas Cowboys website, you can see a video and a series of terrific pictures of the event before, during and after. I tried to copy but they won't let me..the structure is 85-feet high so it gathered some momentum coming down..There were lots of acts of heroism and no one just ran off and didn't come back..The all ran, then realized there were people trapped and all came back to lift pieces of the roof off of people. Some of the pieces were so heavy it took 4 of those big ass players to lift it..I'm just sick about the special team coach Joe DeCamillis who is the one that can't move from the waist down. I hope it's not permanent..but so far that's the report.

Lucky for us here in West, by Goddess, Texas we didn't get that much bad weather out of the storm. This happened about 3:30 P.M. and we didn't get anything till 4:30 A.M. I was still up and couldn't have slept any how as the thunder was really loud and the rain and wind was pretty noisy..I was ass deep in my book and all of a sudden I though..."Oh fuck!...you forgot to roll the windows up."...Had to go out in the middle of it to roll the window up wearing my "Bite Me" t-shirt and drawers. Was just soaked when I came back in the apartment.

Seems like there should be taps playing in the background for my last DAM News post.

DOG COMES TO RESCUE IN TURTLE HUNT

Turtle patrol members spent 5 hours searching for a Kemp's ridley sea turtle nest.
Then they called on Ridley, a Cairn terrier, who found the nest in minutes.
The owner Donna Shaver, National Seashore's sea turtle science and recovery division director, began training the dog to sniff out the nests in 2005. The terrier has located two nests. One had 101 eggs to be incubated: 92 hatching's were later returned to the wild.
The need for Ridley is because the wind or surf destroys the trail of the endangered turtles, making them difficult to find. Ridley's nose sniffs them out in minutes. "We just don't want to go away empty-handed," Shaver said...
