Mardi Gras 2023 Senior Center and one Mexican plate

Shannon who's husband wants to move it with me or at least be allowed to come by for lunch every day.
before we started getting our lunch crowd, which didn't stop them from digging into the King Cake.
crowd is starting to come in.. bingo first food second.
yeah, I can't remember her name. I can't remember anyone's name.
                                                  Jackiesue and her droppie boobies.
                                                      King Cake.
can you see the size of those King Cakes? thanks to Jeanne at Gerik's Bakery. When I asked her how much it was going to cost she told me to take my cakes and get out ..The lady digging in is Becky who has chickens and sells them to us for $3 a dozen and furnishes them for free for our cooking at the center. Spent my own money to buy the masks and let them take them home. They said what am I going to do with them? I said let your grandkids play with them..duh!
the guy in far back  is Cujo's brother Scott who is blind. His guide dog keeps getting loose and coming to my apt and scratches on the door cause he knows I have treats.. smart doggie.
this couple are drivers and he is a Viet Nam vet and has a steel leg. he is my tester...he's right at my elbow waiting to be first one served. When I made chicken and dumplings he was out of his mind waiting for it. I was having trouble getting the dumplings to cook all the way thru ..we were testing them and gagging cause they were raw and laughing our asses off cause the next person had to test next. When they were finally done it was perfect. I really do like this couple.. Steve and Kay.
I bought the masks($ store for $1.25 each)..the beads are mine from my Louisiana  cousin..
my son's Mexican Fiesta plate. Chris's brisket flour tortilla, my beans and green salsa Chicken enchiladas and Chris's rice.

Love the masks and beads -- what a terrific "finishing touch" for the Mardi Gras theme! And the food looks wonderful (of course!). How nice of Gerik's Bakery to donate the King Cakes! I bet they were tasty too! Did anyone get the Baby Jesus?

What a festive feast! What good people. That’s a community. I’d say Cujo’s brother’s guide dog and Shannon’s husband have the right idea. I’d be on your porch daily.
So, the burning question: Did you ladies earn your beads the “traditional” way? 😉 😉
Put your feet up…well done.

Debra, we had one baby but couldn't find another one so found a ball, and bought 2 of those led light fountains for gifts. they loved them. omg. The king cakes were unbelievable...
Jerri...some old dude asked me if I was going to show my boobs for beads..I cracked up laughing and said my boobs are almost 80 years old, no one wants to look at them.
