There is a WHOLE bunch of stuff in that short phrase to unpack. First and Foremost: While voting DOES need to be made easier in many places, the primary problem is the voting public itself. A majority of American citizens can no longer critically-think themselves out of a wet paper sack. So having to do RESEARCH? READ?!MAKE VALUE JUDGEMENTS?!? Fuck that noise. Gimme the remote - Hannity's coming on.
Then, on top of that single basic inadequacy, things like outdated/hackable voting machines and infrastructure with NO credible paper trails, rampant Republican gerrymandering, the near-total evisceration of the Voting Rights Act, minority voter intimidation and discrimination, outright election fraud not being prosecuted or even called out...
Just trying to make voting easier without addressing the bedrock issues is like trying to make something fool-proof: All you do is produce bigger and better fools.
