She may not have given the world what Ann Richards and Molly Ivins gave to us...But she deserved better than this....Dead in Hollywood, Fla. 2-8-07.........Anna Nicole Smith....

This really comes as a shock. I heard about it on the radio coming home from work.

Very strange. . .

Yeah, I just blogged about her too. Really, it's just sad. Such a waste.

It is sad. She didn't deserve the scorn of so many people.

A sad end for a rather unusual and remarkably misunderstood woman.

Bless her poor troubled soul. :-(

Shady Lane was 42 when Anna Nicole Smith was born. I am glad your memorilized her. I liked Anna Nicole. She was big and brazen and not afraid to conquer the world. I hadn't seen her recently, but her son's death must have really messed with her. He was her reason for living for son long. PS-- do you know from a lady on the train I just learned what "yellowdog" means. I thought it was just from your dogs... haha... I'm such a dork..

I'm not a fan of hers, but I always find it sad when I hear of someone like that dying so young. May she find peace in the after life

I hope she gets to meet Marilyn Monroe on the other side, that was her idol.

I felt sorry for her.. She was so often a target of ridicule. Somehow, I knew that the loss of her son was too much for her. This is not at all what I expected, but somehow, I am not surprised either.
She was unable to cope with the daily bumps and bruises of life..
when the worst of all possible things happened to her, how could she deal with that?
At least she is with her Daniel now, and will hopefully find peace.
Now it is that poor baby girl that I am concerned about.
What will happen to her, I wonder. I pray for normalcy and love for her.

She deserves so much more. She was human. I know she's finally happy now. I hope she's finally at peace.

Very well put. Anyone deserves better than what the news ghouls will continue to do for the next few days if not weeks. I'm not a big follower of the celebrity scene, but whenever I see these tasteless, exploitative stories about people like her, Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears, etc., I usually wonder why people can't just leave them alone and let them be who they are.

She might have had post pardum depression, too. I feel so sad for her. Maybe her next life will be more peaceful. We live what we live to learn important lessons... then we get to do it again...

Sad what she did to herself. I know it's sappy, but I like to think she was reunited with her son. I think you really can die of a broken heart.
She was no role model but she was a human being. And yes, she did deserve better.
