.......TIDBITS FROM DAM NEWS.......

"Seek ye the Kingdom of God first, and all these things will be given to you."...So, if you can't have it,possibly you do not really need it."..Brother Joris, a beer-brewing Trappist monk, on complaints from beer connoisseurs that it's too hard to acquire his monastery's limited-produced brew.I think the complainers should have quoted the Bible right back at him.
"Jesus wept."...

"Kill her, kill her, by firing squad." A Khartoum street mob calling for stricter penalties for a British schoolteacher convicted of insulting Islam by allowing her Sudanese Muslim students to name a Teddy bear Mohammed.

Well, what can you say to that?..
Except them fuckers is crazy...

"I am a father of four children. For that, I stayed.I never could have left him. Never."
Manuel Jesus Cordova Soberanes, an un-documented Mexican worker who risked (and received)deportation to help an American child wandering in the Arizona desert after a car crash killed his mother
So..here you have a group of people who want to kill someone for naming a Teddy bear after Mohammed and a guy named after Jesus who risked his chance for a slice of the American dream for a kid..anyone besides me see the humor in this?
"It's a sad day for American financial markets when you've got to turn to Abu Dhabi to get bailed out."...Robert Morgenthau, Manhattan district attorney, on the Arab emirate's rescue of Citibank....Well, woopty fuck...how about all the money the American government owes the Chinese....Plus all the business's, land etc. that the Arab's, Chinese, Japanese and Canadians own..Soon baby's born in this country will be born with a stamp on their butts..saying "made in China"...
"There is a division among Palestinians. There are those after food, life; those that are materialistic, like Abbas; and there are those like us who are seeking life after death." Asma al-Fayoumi, one of an estimated 100,000 Hamas supporters demonstrating against the Annapolis peace conference. I don't know about y'all...but I would be more than happy to help him on his way..
This post was brought to you by the House of Satan special...I got it all hooked up by my own self..David still hasn't gotten my desk put together yet..damnit..and I broke down and called and got high speed Internet..so Hopefully by next Friday..I will be faster than a speeding bullet...Does this mean I'm high tech?...

Jackie.....At High-Speed?

*Jesus weeps and runs for his mommy*

I bought the His Dark Materials books today. I'll probably read all 3 this weekend.

My opinions of the Muslims are...well...not for public display.

I think that was Brother Joris' polite way of saying: "Brew your own goddamn beer".

The teddy bear thing has my brain reeling, which it does with some regularity when I hear about Muslims and what offends them today.

We should all be as good at heart as the Mexican fellow who helped the kid. Then the world would be the kind of place the God and Goddess intended.

I heard about that immigrant who stayed with the kid. My heart goes out to the kid, as he'd apparently just lost his dad a few months earlier.

Man, I could go for a beer. Those monks seem to know a thing or two about beer. Maybe alcohol is the best way to enjoy the Holy Spirit?
