YEAH, MORE STUMBLES

I had to weed them out so I could add more....I didn't get the kung fu school one at first. I loved the one of Obama acting like he was going to punch out McCain..wish he had..

Bastrop, Texas(outside of Austin)

(H.E.B. is a grocery store in Texas..kind of like Piggly Wiggly, or Krogers.)
a local was asked to leave the HEB when he made this joke:A vote for McCain is like a chicken voting for col. sanders.

COWBOYS 41-EAGLES 37

If the Cowboys didn't give me a heart attack with this game...

I will never have one. I will live to be a really cranky old lady and die in my sleep....fuckity fuck fuck fuck!....If you didn't watch the game you missed a hell of a game. I gotta give it to the Eagles, they played hard, tough and very good...We pulled it out of her ass. But all that matters?....the big W...

fuck me I'll never roller skate again.

and if I have to listen to those ignorant asshole announcers speak again, I will tap dance on their forehead ...

....SARAH PALIN...

SARAH PALIN, THE TRUTH

I'm going to copy most of this from an article I found in my Dallas Morning Newspaper yesterday. I won't copy all of it but most of it, as it's really great. It originates from Wasilla, Alaska and done by the New York Times. Your going to fucking love this. The stuff in parenthesis are from me)

IN OFFICE, SHE HIRED FRIENDS, HIT CRITICS
Candidate's style contrasts with her public image.(no shit?)
Gov. Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal.
So when there was a vacancy at the state Agriculture Department, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency.
Ms. Havemeister was one of at least five high school classmates Ms. Palin hired, often at salaries far exceeding their private sector wages.
Ms. Palin walks the national stage as a small-town foe of "good old boys" politics and a champion for ethics reform. And as the Republican vice presidential nominee, she points to her management experience while mocking her Democratic rivals, Sens. Barack Obama and Joe Biden, as speech-makers who never have run anything.(is she fucking KIDDING me?)
An examination of her swift rise and record as mayor of Wasilla and then governor finds that her visceral style and penchant for attacking critics-she sometimes calls local opponents "haters"..often contrasts with her public image.(visceral...don't you just love that fucking word?..it means pertaining to the viscera..viscera is the internal organs, especially those of the great cavities of the body, commonly the intestines.)
Throughout her career, she has pursued vendettas, fired officials who crossed her and sometimes blurred the line between government and personal grievance, according to a review of public records and interviews with 60(not 1, not 5 but 60 fucking people) Republicans and Democratic legislators and local officials.
Interviews show that Ms Palin runs an administration that puts a premium on loyalty and secrecy. The governor and her top officials sometimes use personal e-mail accounts for state business:dozens of e-mail messages obtained by the New York Times show that her staff members studied whether that could allow them to circumvent subpoenas seeking public records.
Still, Ms. Palin has many supporters. As mayor she paved roads and build an ice rink, and as governor she has pushed through higher taxes on the oil companies that dominate one-third of the state's economy.
"She is bright and has unfailing political instincts," said Steve Haycox, a history professor at the University of Alaska. "She taps very directly into anxieties about the economic future."
"But, he added, "her governing style raises a lot of hard questions."
Ms. Palin declined to be interviewed.(doh?...you think?)
Laura Chase, the campaign manager during Ms. Palin's first run for mayor in 1996, recalled the night the two women chatted about ambitions. "I said, 'you know, Sarah, within 10 years you could be governor," Ms. Chase recalled. "She replied, ' I want to be president.'"...(look out McCain, if you do make it to the White House, I suggest you sleep with one eye open and double guards on the door, and hire Cheney and his shotgun)
As mayor, Ms.Palin presided over a city rapidly outgrowing itself. She passed a road and sewer bond, cut property taxes but raised the sales tax, and loosened the reins on enforcing zoning ordinances.
And, her supporters say, she cleaned out the municipal closet, firing veteran officials to make way for her own team.(how many fucking people went to her high school anyhow?)
"She had an agenda for change and for doing things differently," said Judy Patrick, a City Council member.(who I'm sure went to school with Ms. Palin, also)
But there was human cost. The mayor quickly fired the town's museum director, John Cooper, saying she was eliminating the job.(he must have gone to school in some other city)Days later, Mr. Cooper recalled, a vocal conservative, Steven Stoll, sidled up to him. Mr. Stoll had supported Ms. Palin and had a long-running feud with Mr. Cooper. "He said: 'Gotcha, Cooper. And it only cost me a campaign contribution,'" Mr. Cooper said.(that fucking bitch)
Mr. Stoll did not recall that conversation, although he said he did contribute to Ms. Palin's campaign and was pleased that she fired Mr. Cooper.(starting to see a pattern here folks?"
She used city money to buy a white Suburban for the mayor's use- the employees sarcastically called it the mayor-mobile.
Restless ambition defined Ms. Palin this decade.(that's 10 years right?....10 fucking years...jeez) She raised money for Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska; finished second in the 2002 Republican primary for lieutenant governor; and applied to fill the seat of U.S. Sen. Frank Murkowski when he ran for governor.
Mr. Murkowski appointed his own daughter, but as a consolation price he gave Ms. Palin the $125,000-a-year chairmanship of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.(like giving the keys to the hen house to the fox)
The GOP establishment shunned her after she went public with complaints that a fellow board member was conducting party business on state time.(Republicans hate a tattle tail)
But her break with the gentleman's club of oil producers and political power pushed her into the public eye.
"She was honest and forthright," said Jay Kerttula, a former state senator from Palmer and a Democrat.(if Mccain and Palin get in, lets see what kind of job HE gets.)
Ms Palin won the 2006 gubernatorial primary, and in the general election she faced a Democrat and an independent.
Not deeply versed in policy, she skipped some candidate forums; at others, she flipped through handwritten color coded index cards strategically placed behind her name tag.(wonder if she learned that in high school)
Nearly half a century after Alaska became a state, Ms. Palin was inaugurated in Fairbanks and took up the reformer's sword.(and stuck it into the first person's back that disagreed with her)
As she assembled her Cabinet and made other state appointments, those with insider credentials were now on the outs. But a new pattern became clear: She surrounded herself with figures drawn from her personal life- former high school classmates, people she had known since grade school and fellow churchgoers.
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell praised Ms. Palin's appointments. "the people she hires are competent, qualified, top -notch people" he said.(yeah, they can kiss ass with the best of them)
The Wasilla High School yearbook archive now doubles as a veritable directory of state government. Ms. Palin appointed John Bitney, her former junior high school band-mate, as her legislative director and tapped another classmate, Joe Austerman, to manage the office of economic development for $82,908 per year. Previously, he established an Alaska franchise area for Mailboxes Etc.(well, hell, I can see how that would qualify him for the job.)
Damn, I wish I had gone to school with Sarah Palin, maybe I would be running for her Vice President after she kills McCain.
And you know she will......

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE LAST NIGHT

http://

TEXAS MY TEXAS

Since so many of you didn't know where West was, and were surprised at the size..thought you would be interested in this bit of information..

Texas has a total of 268,820 square miles. So if you have ever heard Asleep at the Wheel sing "Miles and Miles of Texas", you know what they mean.
The width of Texas is 773 miles.
The length of Texas is 790 miles.
We have two time zones. Most of Texas is central time zone, but the tip of West(not the city),Texas is Mountain zone.
This is my favorite bit of Texas information. In 1836, Texas became The Independent Republic of Texas. We 'was' a country...we remained a Republic till it became the 28th State in 1845. So for 9 by Goddess years we were a country. See why we're so fucking smug and think our shit don't stink?...We also had our own Navy. Those were our glory days. Then Bible thumping Christians took over and we've been fucked every since. All apologies to my good Christian friends..You know which ones I mean. The ones that are more concerned about gay marriage than health care. Why if we had free health care, them homo's would all run out and get aids to benefit from it. sigh*
While I'm on my soap box( I decided to keep it out instead of leaving it in the shed), you yafta go to http://mudflats.wordpress.com/
and see the pictures posted from the anti-Palin demonstration. They rock....
I would like to ask a favor...go to the post office and get a stack of voter registration applications and start asking your friends if they're registered..if not ask them if they would like to..and then whip out the application..It can't hurt.

WHERE WEST, TEXAS IS

OK...find Houston, Galveston, that's where Ike and Tina hit. Then look toward the center of the state and find Mclennan County..right above it is Hill County, West is about 10 miles in from the end of Hill where it meets Mclennanm where the little tip is of Mclennan. So even though I'm looking out my window a the birds getting whipped around by the wind and rain, they are still finding it easy to get food from the feeders..We're safe...should get hit by it later on this afternoon, but I don't think it's going to be as bad as we thought and we really do need the rain.

SATURDAY DAY 1-IKE AND TINA

I stayed up till almost 3am waiting for Ike and Tina to show up...they must have stopped off for a few beers as the 1am deadline for them came and went. I hauled my ass out of bed at 9am(latest I have slept in forfuckingever), opened the door to get the paper and it's sprinkling and the wind is blowing enough that it curled my rug up. So, I sit down in front of the computer to read my emails(with my Make 7(on the front) and Up Yours )(on the back) t shirt and drawers, before I eat and the phone rings and it's Tom at work...Shampagne(yes, that is really her name, and no she's white). hasn't shown up and the truck is there and can I come in and run the register till someone shows up...So I toss on my Air Force t shirt, shorts and tennie runners, grab a piece of bread, down my pills and off I go...Of course 10 minutes after I get there she shows up, looking a tad raggedy and hung over, so I get to go back home. Tom said he would clock me out in an hour, so my trip wouldn't be a waste ...yeah, right. Figure since I'm out I'll stop by and see Nancy at the Library. She applied for and we got a $2,400 grant to aid library's storytelling program. The money will be used to train 16 area high school students in the art of professional storytelling along with paying for the program's supplies. Waco will be sending down a professional storyteller to teach them and then instead of just having story time for the very young, we'll be able to have story time for all the ages. When I went in there was a young girl (who helps out once in awhile) asking for the form and she will just be terrific. She has younger brothers and sisters and always told them stories at home and would wear costumes, put on make up and do all the voices. This is going to be so much fun. I want to ask Nancy if I can sit in and learn with them..Maybe pay for my own supplies and maybe I can read some stories to the kids..I would love it..I would like to read to the older ones who might get some of my weird sense of humor(the clean stuff you guys) and my choice of books.

Thursday when I stopped in I checked out a book that I had read about and when I did Nancy asked me if I knew anything about the book. I said yes, there is this 'Shack' and the guy has been given a note from God to meet him there..So when he goes there God will be inside the shack. (There is more to the story but in case any of you want to read it, by William P. Young.) So she says let me know what you think when you get finished reading it. She knows of my pagan beliefs and she is a practicing and devout Catholic....I said oh yeah, you'll hear from me..So I started reading it last night and by about page 100 I'm weeping like a baby...then ...well...don't want to put any spoilers down. But it's been a great read. I'm not crazy about his style, but can see how it helps the story. So if anyone has read it or does read it..let me know what you think..
Ok...that's it..just wanted to give you an update as to what's going on...oh just so you can see what kolaches and sausage can do for you..including the picture of our homecoming queen and princess nominees.

I'M A NEW SAYING IN WEST

Just a update before Ike and Tina(I changed its name) hits us up with some rain and wind...Went to Community Grocery this am before work to give Patsy Patsy Patsy some cigarette coupons and she asked how I was doing...I said:' I chant, I meditate, I listen to soothing music, I do yoga, then I go find someone and smack the shit out of them..so yeah, I"m fine.'

She, Andy(her boy toy) and the girls that work the register cracked up...So I go back to get toilet paper after I got off work(I have this horrible phobia about not having enough toilet paper) and said:" how ya doing?"...she said that as of this morning I was the new saying....that when any one asks how she is she says"I chant, I meditate, I listen to soothing music, and do yoga, and then I send Jackie out to smack the shit out of someone..so yeah, I'm good."....made me laugh.

thank the Goddess for Charmin..

.......IKE.......

This is our weather for the next few days...Doesn't look horrible but doesn't look good either..Depends on where it hits and what category ....Babs and I are coordinating our lists. Bread, flashlight, Jesus Candles, eggs, etc. Going to fill the bathtub up full of water, making a ton of ice, and if needed will get a couple of bags tomorrow. I have a bunch of fish and chicken in the freezer, so will take it out tomorrow and cook it all up in case we lose power..Which as you know, every time we have a storm either the phones go out(no computers..arghgh) or the electricity and no computers..or both..The wiring in West was last redone in the 70's...maybe..Wind will be coming in at us from the north east (as we are on the outer edge of the storm when it hits) and that is my front porch..Babs faces south so she'll be ok...I need to go get everything off my porch that is light weight and put it in my shed..
Anyhow..if you don't hear from me either blog wise or email wise after Sat. it's because the storm has shut us down. Fuckme till the tide goes out.
