SATURDAY'S AT THE LIBRARY WITH JACKIE

It's Saturday in West, Texas...it's in the 40's I think and simi-sunny...wind is blowing and I am nice and toasty warm in the Library.
Jacob has shelved all the books that need to be shelved and my other adult helper(and I use the term loosly) is building a Dell laptop and hoping they will let him charge it..he is as worthless as tits on a boar hog..shelved about 8 books and been sitting on his ass every since...I don't think our library should be used for community service..the library should be a place where you want to be...not used as a form of punishment..there is one kid who comes in and has a kabillion hours of community service..he doesn't like books, doesn't like shelving books, and knows nothing about the books..we have a paper book section...only paper back books...I found 27 hard back books mixed in with the paper backs..when I told him to removed them and put them where they belonged he acted like I was asking him to shovel shit with his nose..little prick..Told him how smart do you have to be to know that 'the big hard books don't go with the little soft books"? he just shrugged his shoulders..guess that was too hard of a question..I think they should give them a sharp stick, an orange vest and a croaker sack and have them pick up garbage...
oh man..you will not believe the balls of this guy...the one that was on the computer building his dell? He handed me his slip where I'm supposed to sign his time in and time out..he was supposed to work here from 9-am to 12noon...he came in at 10:30 and stacked 8 books and then spent the rest of the time on the computer..I put down 15 minutes as time worked and he said 'I really need 3 hours as I'm going to see my probation office tomorrow'..I said'you should have thought about that while you were building your fanatsy Dell computer on line'...he said I really need 3 hours...I said...tough shit..and signed it and handed it back to him..he said 'man..that's not right...'...only thing that kept me from bitch slapping him was I was in the library...so I said"what is not right is your not doing the job you were supposed to be doing and expecting me to go along with it.,,,I could call your probation officer for you if you would like."....he left...tsk tsk...little fucker...
well, we are official closed...had to practically toss Melinda out of here..she's lonely and has no one to talk to ..so it was me...but I need to go to (eek..shudder) to Bellmead(15 miles away) to pick up 3 rolls of film.Jenny put them in for me..she was going to bring them to me but she has been working full time since school is out and too pooped to drive here after working 10 hours a day..bless her little heart...
I finished reading the new Stephen King book...called Lisey's Story...take my word for it..don't waste your time..it sucked soo bad...it picked up about 3/4 of the way through, but by then I had quit giving a shit..there were some pretty funny moments..but all in all..I wish I had spent that time reading the new Jan Burke book...and weep for the loss of trees it took to make the book...512 pages...arg!what a waste...James Lee Burke is supposed to have a new one coming out..I can't wait..that cajan boy has yet to write a bad book..want to find me a fat guy just like Clete with a pork pie hat that is in the Dave books...if you have not read James Lee...you have to...he is a yafta...yafta read him..
the word for today is:jingle.....remember to at least mentally scream..and word for sunday is:ho ho ho...
I think I am stalling..last time I went to Bellmead I had a panic attack..all those fucking cars...hell in West, if I have to sit at stop sign and wait for more than 7 cars..I'm pissed...
Didn't have time to read any blogs, but will catch up Monday...have a good weekend and hope your team wins...
fuckme till I stall out in traffic

Sorry assholes, not you the community service puss bags The Boss works with the same people after they escalate their crimes and are in prison. They think that the world was meant to take care of their every need and anyone who inconveniences them is the excuse for their next crime wave.
If I sound a little bitter you will know why on my next post.
No packages here yet and I have had a really strange time the last few weeks.
I hate you having no computer access on Friday and Sunday.
I have the new King book but haven't read it yet. Yesterday was a really special day as I got Koontz book Brother Odd. Things are looking up!

Damm...I did community service at the library and stacked all the books nicely, cleaned every window in the joint, lemon oiled all the bookcases, and still managed to catch up on the day's news in the periodicle section...Took me 4 hours...they gave me 8. :)

instead of an orange vest and pick up sticks how about putting a vest on them that has a bull's eye then put them all out in a field and they could be target practice :)
I don't think I would make a good cop...shoot first talk later

JS, according to Burke's web site (http://www.jamesleeburke.com/)he's got a book of short stories coming out next year called Jesus Out To Sea. Amazon UK has him listed for a short story collection in 2007 called The Night Johnny Ace Died. Probably the same book with a different title for the Brits. Johnny Ace was the guy who sang Pledging My Love, and Please Forgive Me. He died on Christmas Eve before a concert while playing Russian roulette, I believe. Burke's web site also says that he's got a novel due out in July 2007 called The Tin Roof Blowdown, which takes place in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I caaaaaan't wait!!! I wish Burke could put out a new one each month. I keep reading that Gar Anthony Haywood is working on a new one too.

Love it!
My experience was like Sling's- show up early, do a great job, get to go home early with a signed slip.
I had the croaker sack- the library gig would've been like a reward for me.

I can just see just see you slapping him and when he cries out in pain, you just go "Shhhhhh!"

I hope you got the concept across that big hard things don't go with little soft things.

And thanks for the warning on Stephen King's book. I thought he said he was written out and was hanging it up on writing.

it seems like a library is too nice of a place to send people for community service. doing a little clean up at a dog shelter would seem more appropriate.

The new Stephen King sucks? Aw horse-shit, I was looking forward to reading that too. Wonder if it's too late to scratch it off my xmas list and replace it with 3 hours of solid snogging with Eric Bana instead?

I really need to go and hang out in libraries more often, especially if there are people in there like you, Jackie. When I was in school, I used to hang out by the gay books and hope that I'd meet some of "my kind" that way, but that plan never panned out.
