i stopped crying long enough to shout'fuckyou' to jessie jackson... and mccain may be an old fart asshole..but he gave a wonderful speech conceeding to Obama..I keep pinching myself..I can't believe it's true...I just KNEW we would lose and I was looking forward to getting falling down drunk...hahahah.. oh man...next to the births of my children and the births of my granddaughters, this is the happiest day of my life...
i started to think about our first presidents and leaders, and don't you know that george washington, john adams, the monroes, jefferson, ben franklin would be sitting around going 'what the fuck?' now THAT'S funny!
It's been in the 70's the last few days in Ohio so the pollen count must be up. Can't figure out how I suddenly got hay fever though. Ohio did it right for a change, but my county still went for McCain. At 11 this morning I texted my son at th Art Institute of Pittsburg and asked him if he voted. He sent back right away that he had been standing in line for 30 minutes. He turned 19 July 2nd. His brother is pissed. He turns 18 December 6th. Damn pollen. :P I wonder how much it cost Jessie to bribe the Camera man to hang around while he cut onions?
We're all doing the happy dance here at work. I am incredibly relieved it is such an overwhelming majority; my fear had been that it would be close, recounts would happen, and the Repugs would steal it then.
I guess the strategy of getting out more votes than they can steal worked!! Now I hope that Shameless doesn't get 50% +1 vote because then there will have to be a run-off election.
gaddy:yup, before he can do something new and good, he's got to fix all of bush's fuckups..sigh* cheesey:right up until they said he won it i just knew he'd lost..ha oldphatstu:i loved watching all the reactions from other country's this morning.now we can travel with out people spitting on us. woozie:are you fecking crazy? a choak hold maybe, not a hug. nitty:good for your son..tell the younger one he'll be able to reelect him in 2012. jessie jackson was crying because he knew he blew it and could never be what obama is..and by making the cutting off his balls remark, he will have no place in obamas administration...thank the goddess. ted:everyone wanted something better and obama is it. josh:i haven't heard yet what happened on prop. 8...dang! mrsb:no shit! allan:hugs right back atcha. nan:me too, i kept waiting for something ugly to happen and take it away from us. anne:i havent cried this many happy tears since the cowboys won the last super bowl..
I fell asleep in my Lazy boy and when I woke up I thought it was all a dream! For the first time in 8 years the dream and the nightmare are in their right places in my life. Prop 8 in Calf. sucks, and I say that as a perso who went through the Mormon indocturanation when I as 9 and had the Bishop try to drown me in the tub they keep under the alter. I thibk he senced I was only going through it to please my mother. I don't even do things to please myself now. Damn pollen is still making me leaky eyed.
I had a dream and then it came true! Who would have thunk it!
Lovin it Jackie!!! I was at the Crown Royal in St.Paul when Obama was declared the winner.. what an awesome night. I am so proud of everyone that voted, especially the young people who finally came out. Do I feel sorry for McCain.? NOT !! All I have to do is remember the sleaze he threw at us day after day!! It will take me time to get over what he did to make people beleive that we elected a Terroist..
I was proud to be American again...after so very many years of being embarrassed by it (and Bush). I refuse to give McCain any "classy exit" props...the guy ran the nastiest, lowest campaign in my lifetime. He got exactly what he deserves. May he burn in Arizona and may she freeze in Alaska.
Nobody I voted for won except for the most important one, Obama! First time since Clinton that the guy I voted for won. If McCain would have acted like he did last night during the campaign, he might have won, glad he didn't!
I've cried more happy tears in the last 24 hours than I can remember crying in years. Every time I see a video clip or hear another snippet of speech I well up again.
I am moved beyond words. I have a sense of hope again. May the Gods keep him safe. May the Gods guide our hands and feet.
For we can, working together, create a better brighter tomorrow.
Evilganome, I felt the same way, too. I kept double-checking the map to make sure there weren't any vote-stealing hijinks going on. I didn't even let myself celebrate until I got to work the next day and saw all the teachers (at least in my hallway) dancing and hugging and crying... and then I let loose with this cathartic cry that lasted all day. Everytime a student would ask me how I felt, the tears came back. They probably think I'm weird, but what else is new. :)
Now it's time for this nation to do a LOT of work. I'm just going to pray that he gets the support he needs to get stuff done.
I'm telling you, Obama is the unlikely hero. A friend at work dubbed him "The Postman" after the Kev. Costner film, and said, "If he wins, we'll know the American dream is still alive; we'll know anything is possible." That's goddamn right. I think the founding fathers would be sitting around with "Barry" down at Broadstreet Tavern in New York and downing a round with him, and the First Democrat, Thomas Jefferson would be hammered out of his mind, jumping up and down, screamin' "He did it! Yes!!!"

I just wish the poor guy hadn't been handed such a shitstorm by douchebag and co.
>__<
Sadly I've become such a cynic that I didn't think it would happen. Glad to have been proved wrong!
Congratulations, America!!!
And a big THANKYOU to all who voted for him :-)
I felt bad for McCain. He looked so disappointed. Just wanna hug him ({)

A new day dawns, and I'm glad that I was here to witness it.
Now my attention turns to Prop. 8 in California...
Woohoooooooo!
Internet Hug!

I haven't cried for happiness so much since Lassie Came Home.

I am overjoyed it was such an awesome night.
I cried tears of joy for all my American friends last night. Change is in the air!!!
I have been so overwhelmed by the whole amazing experience.

I don't mind crying when they are tears of joy.

I am happy to see we have won and now we all need to help the President get the job done!
I laughed,I cried,I got shitfaced!
