over 50 years ago Iran had a democratically elected prime minister who nationalized the petroleum industry. This pissed the american oil compnaies off. So with the help with the ever helpful CIA, they overthrew the government and reinstated the "puppet" shaw..His love for all things western led to the Iranian revolution and all hopes for a real democracy ended...thanks guys...
